okay @autumn-may is much more versed on this one than I am but! I’ll give a rundown. Saïx’s mystery gear in days is bunnymoon, a claymore that switches from a moon on the end to a rabbit during his rage form. These mystery gears have one description, in that they are the ones that “draw forth the wielder’s personality”.

I’m personally not against wolf-saïx, especially because, well *gestures at werewolfisms* but there is something to be said about how he isn’t initially a wolf, in fact, with the way he’s targeted for some reason that we aren’t entirely aware of yet (what with him being chosen brought back to the organization by young xehanort and xigbar in the recoded movie bonus cutscene, as well as him having a physical recusants sigil—the scar—in addition to the one in his name) it’s kind of easy to connect him to a prey animal like a rabbit. The version of saïx we see in 358/2, kh2, and so on and so forth, our ‘wolf’ is a version of him that exists as a result of him losing parts of him to the faked/forced identity of organization manager/enforcer, it’s not his default state.

Also, this is just me but I love the conflict between predator and prey with the idea of werewolf and rabbit, I think it plays very well with how he’s not designed to be a combatant for the most part. He stays out of the way and plans and schemes but isn’t that weird for a berserker? His two roles within the org (the manager and beserker) are at odds with one another.
