I think Aerion being a son of Alicent, with either viserys or Daemon, is a good fic AU
A daemicent revelation for S3 will be so exciting (especially if it was consensual) and it makes me think of how the masked resentment both Alicent and Daemon have for each other can actually be suppressed sexual tension instead.
Daemon hates Otto for being so close to his brother and in extension hates Alicent for being Otto’s daughter and for marrying Viserys, but does he possibly secretly fantasize about his brother with her? Alicent appears initially excited to receive Daemon’s attention in S1E1 and to give him her favor, even when her father disapproves, because he has that “bad boy” and “rogue prince” reputation that is so teenage-fantasy-coded that maybe if he pursued her at a later stage in life she couldn’t resist because he was always her teenage fantasy.
Hence, I’d say that for the sake of this theory, it’s possible that Alicent and Daemon acted upon their fantasies one night which resulted in Daeron (I still can’t get over how similar their names are: Daemon and Daeron). A revelation that pious and dutiful Alicent has an illegitimate child would be BIG NEWS, especially since it will mean that she envied how Rhaenyra could get away with breaking the rules all the time, and she decided she might as well do the same.
And then there’s Alicent’s comment to her father from S1: “and nor will Daemon… which you know.” What does Alicent exactly mean? What has happened and how much does Otto know? What does this all have to do with sending Daeron away? Was he sent to Oldtown so that Viserys of all people doesn’t suspect that the child isn’t his?
If the Daeron x Daemon leak turns out to be true and Daemon knows that he is his child which explains his display of affection for him in the pics, just think of the irony of Daemon having a secret son and him being the kindest of his brothers. I would absolutely love this twist.
