My friend and I were also in agreement that showing him and Gayle lucemond was out of pocket. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would feel as the actor to have to "react" to pictures of yourself. While I'm sure they're not naive to the fact that they exist, I don't think they should have shown them risque images. Because like........what was the point? It was so unprofessional.
Exactly! Again, it's nothing new to discuss popular pairings with actors. Rhaenicent, Daemyra, Helaemond, etc. The question is whether the question was appropriate, and it wasn't. I would have even understood if it had only been Ewan. But he was with Gayle. Or at least just mention it, but don't show the art 😭😃 But to be fair, the art wasn't that revealing. And overall, I don't think we should hide or taboo Lucemond too much or act like it's something terrible that can't be discussed. The pairing itself isn't the most problematic in the fandom (IMHO). The age difference between the characters is minimal compared to other pairings (I have to remind you that we're talking about the characters, not the actors). And the main problem for most is that it's one of the most popular MLM ships in HotD.
But anyway, in the context of this promotional interview between Ewan and Gayle for s3, the question specifically about lucemond was completely inappropriate.

Now, almost everyone knows about fanfiction. I'm approaching 40 now, and in my youth, it was really hard to find like-minded people or talk openly with anyone about shipping in general, let alone how taboo the topic of slash/fem-slash was. But now? Sorry not sorry. But now even damn children openly discuss fanfiction/pairings. Which sometimes shocks me.
But at the same time, actors, of course, don't know what that is (sarcasm). As if in this industry, actors don't do everything possible to be remembered, gain fans, influence, roles, etc.
Although I don't understand the interviewer's logic, why they had to mention Lucemond and emphasize it so much, even showing a whole piece of art for the s3 promo interview. Like…Luke's been dead for a long time, and the fandom itself has obviously been declining over the past few years. And bringing up/criticizing Lucemond NOW is like kicking a dead horse, lmao.
