I just got a revelation in a neighbouring comment section… it might be an interesting coincidence, or one of the sources of the bros’ inspiration (and a jumpscare for Russian speakers lol)
In 1979 there was a soviet movie, based on the book:
“The Adventures of Elektronik”
The movie tells a story of a boy Elektronik (on the right) created with an appearance of the boy on the left by a soviet scientist professor Gromov. Here’s funny resemblance:
(However, unlike Brenner, Gromov is a good guy.)
The interesting part of it in nowadays perspective is how AI can become a human and whether it can
Elektronik runs away from the professor in the beginning of the movie. He was not supposed to meet Seryozha (a boy he looks like), but ofc they do meet and the adventures begin. Initially, Seryozha lets Elektronik live in his shed, and initially he mostly uses his powers and their alikeness to solve daily problems, while Elektronik learns how to be a human. Elektronik also meets Seryozha’s friends (they form a party, if you wish). and Seryozha shortens his name to El.*
* Professor Gromov calls him Elik which is another short form with a suffix.
At the same time El is chased by a criminal gang that wants to kidnap him and use his powers for a museum robbery.
I don’t know if the DB had this movie in mind either, but it looks like it might be possible, as it certainly has some points of alikeness, especially the motif of the main not-entirely-human character trying to become one: my recent theory is that our El can be a program in Nina (or there is also a theory is that she is a demo), but even if I omit that, she canonically shares with Elektronik the beginning of being (in her situation being treated like) a blank canvas used for scientific purposes. Obviously, from what we know, El is a real girl, but her s1 version is feral, and she evolves into a more human version of herself through the following season at least. And so does Elektronik through the movie. They both are chased, while the only thing they want is to learn how to be a human — and a friend.
In ST plot El by nature is human unlike Elektronik, and yet he, being a canonical robot, gets what he wants, and that’s my another reason to believe that this is available for a canonical girl too.
Other things relevant to ST:
• twin brothers playing main characters • the movie is full of songs (which is typical, but still) • soviet scientists here vs soviet spies in ST? • in 1979? (not that the movie is connected, just interesting)

Do you like the BG3 characters, cyberpunk and fusion settings, particularly Cyberpunk 2077? Do you like ensemble casts with shared arcs and personal arcs, a splash of mystery and plotting? Morally grey protagonists, masquerades, heists? 45k words?
Thinking about Cybergate and how long Durge and Raphael were each other's only long-term company, as the world around them forgot about devils and gods
Like this annoying guy you keep coming back to because he's the only one who gets it
And then the devil adopts a human and Durge finally has someone else who at least knows the truth of things

Don't know Gortash's official colours, might go with different facial hair for Gale, and I was considering Gale's Wizardly Updo (the bun) for Halsin, but I ended up kinda digging this one 😳 I don't have the bun for the strong body, so no screenshots, but here are a few others under consideration (long, short, medium, vs braids or bun)
And because she's looking gorgeous, have a bonus flat Lae'zel
Got Wyll's double decker RV laid out for my AU fic 😃
Apart from the beds not being folded down in the expanded mode (and that they wouldn't be Murphy beds. Folded up they'd still be useable, just not as big), I think this is pretty accurate.
The driver and passenger seats of course swivel to their normal positions.
There's a cutout under the sink and loft bed to give the stairs more headroom
A Happy Ending in Baldur's Gate is Either a Delusion or Illusion
Bearing in mind it's a Cyberpunk 2077 AU, what impression do you get from that? How dark or happy do you expect the tone and ending to be, what kind of themes/content might you expect (I'd love to clarify what I mean here, but don't know how without it being a leading question 😅)?
alternatively, "Probably" instead of "Either"
I think it would give a clearer vibe to talk about happy endings in Night City, but the fic officially takes place in Baldur's Gate, even if the setting is more reminiscent of Night City
Also, it's an ensemble cast, with only minor/ambiguous relationships (Not ship-centric)
