Afaik cowboy churches are a weird combo of legit denomination, traditionally-important social nexus among rural folks, and place for cowboy posers to hide from trump haters

Oh. I’ve never felt the need to hide from trump haters (I don’t like trump but I don’t see how that has anything to do with church unless it’s a particularly nationalistic church--in which case yikes). There are enough real cowboys in the area that I can’t imagine there are many posers either. I did just see two kids riding a horse to Jack in the Box today. 

I checked the website of one local cowboy church and they seemed weirdly pentecostal. The other one had a trashy website so who knows. I don’t trust christian-ish denominations or branded churches as a rule, especially the ones with marketing departments.

in the Biden Scenario those are our only options anyway. actual God literally forbid it comes to that (and hopefully bernie benefits from being a responsible adult during this pandemic) but I would rather take Rs losing out on their second term and the possibility of token efforts to slow global warming and inequality by establishment Dems than rolling that fucking train with no brakes. refusing to vote for biden is still 100% morally and politically valid tho, i feel
