The cryn are a kind of often tall stature and lithe build, with pointed ears reminiscent of elves.

The history of the cryn is largely unknown, but it is believed that they were birthed from the petrified corpses of the fallen giants that once roamed the land. Their skin is of a harder quality than that of elves and humans, often of an ashen or grey hue. Their bodies are riddled with crystals of a variety of shapes and colors; some of them large and bumpy, while others are sharp and shard-like.

The cryn have long been hunted and shunned, both for their involvement in what would come to be known as the Confluence (but going into that would make this very long haha) and by some for their crystals. Cryn crystals are a source of arcane energy and they can be plied off to be used for artifacts etc.

It’s unusual to find cryn inside of towns and cities, though not as uncommon in Talzaric, the capital of Aíos; especially after the first cryn was recently allowed on the Queen’s Council. Cryn are a more common sight in Splitside, the lower part of the capital.

Playing as cryn in “Unsanctioned” gives you some resistance to certain types of damage and makes it easier to weave spells without it taking a toll on your mind and body, but you will become more of a target and likely need to be more careful with how you approach certain situations from chapter 2 onward if you want to avoid negative attention.

It’s sooooo bad, just on a technical level. I’m grateful others wiser than me also see it bc if I was the only one I feel like I’d lose my goddamn mind.

For example I’ve seen comments + a wiki on how Moxxie’s upbringing was foreshadowed in S1E1: Murder Family where he says a mafia family might deserve to be killed and I’m just like it supracadupra wasn’t but you’re gonna give the HB creators that bc you don’t know any better and I’m gonna have to cry at the actual lack of media literacy on display here BUT WHATEVER
