I think about the fact that all of the Newsies most likely fought in World War 1, probably once a week; cannon being only 15 years separated from the start of the war, making Jack about 30 when World War 1 starts.
Then I think about the fact that Jeremy Jordan plays Jack Kelly and Jay Gatsby on Broadway.
Then I think about the fact that if we bent cannon just a little—Jay and Daisy’s age—Jack Kelly and Jay Gatsby could theoretically be the same person.
THEN I think about how Jack Kelly goes from loving David Jacobs to loving Daisy Fay as Jay Gatsby.
THEN I think about how I could fuck up Jack Kelly so badly he would change his name and fall in love with a woman.
So anyway, I'm in the process of writing something along those lines if anyone wants to read it when I'm done.
