i really dont get the headcanon people have that luffy would call crocodile his mom like first of all luffy is Mr Woke i think hed be able to handle the concept of crocodile being a trans man and calling him his father if he wanted to and second of all luffy has never been raised in a traditional family unit and clearly doesnt prioritize his biological relatives (ie him not even considering that he could have a father when garp tells him abt dragon and never really seeming all that interested in learning about dragon once he knows) i honestly think the headcanon comes from a mixture of the fandom infantilizing luffy and being casually transphobic towards crocodile both of which are incredibly annoying to see normalized to the point that they are. if anything i think luffy would probably still call crocodile by his name and if someone asked why hed say something like "i dont like that guy" and move on. luffy only has 1 mother figure and thats dadan!!!!!

Thinking about Dragodile and Crocodad. If Crocodile is the trans one, it's a bit weird he didn't connect the dots when Monkey D Luffy, his long lost kid age old, showed up. Giving birth is a pretty memorable event.
Maybe Dragon is the trans dad and Crocodile ignored he was pregnant. Then, Dragon gave birth in secret and brought Luffy to Garp. Maybe Ivankov was talking about Crocodile's revolutionnary past and bad break up with Dragon when they got a bit threatening in Impel Down ? I don't think Crocodile want his past to be know.
And it'll explain Crocodile only connecting the dots and getting protective after the World Government announced who Luffy's dad is. He learnt it was Dragon, did the math, knew Dragon wasn't the kind to cheat and oh fuck, that's mine.
It'll make more sense for me to have Dragon be the trans parent.
