Wow, some people have based so much personality on being disgusted by the idea of Crocodile being Luffy’s birthing parent that I gotta wonder if they’d be forced to drop One Piece if the theory ever got confirmed.

You're my main reference when it comes to Crocodile, so I wanted to ask about something I've been thinking about.
I love Crocodile, I love the idea of him being trans (besides being Luffy's father) because of the layers it brings to the character, but I have some AUs where he's Luffy's father but isn't trans (having been born female). Not for him to hide or anything like that, but to try to reinvent himself as someone new, separate from who he was before. In this AU, it's more that he doesn't care about the gender people think he is.
Since Crocodile is mainly linked to the idea of him being trans, sometimes I worry if I'm erasing that from the character, even if it's just a headcanon.
I also have AUs of him being trans, but that one makes me a little nervous. I would appreciate your opinion and sorry for bothering you <3
Honestly I don’t think it takes anything away from his character to go with that headcannon. I’m not trans myself so I can’t speak on much. But Crocodile isn’t yet confirmed to be a trans character so I’m sure if you write him well then it’ll be fine. Crocodile just not caring if he’s seen as a man or woman is just as plausible as him purposely changing his body to match his gender identity.

I’ve got a lot of fears when it comes to a possible Crocodad reveal. One of my biggest is people denying Crocodiles trans-ness in that twist with excuses like “well Crocodile is just pretending to be a man to protect the secret of Luffy’s birth” or something like that.
You just know if he turns out to have birthed Luffy, the chuds will do all in their power to pretend Crocodile is the gorgeous mommy they can goon to.
I’m less scared of him being *just* confirmed trans since because he passes they’ll just completely ignore that part of his character like they do Kiku.
Funfact : At first i liked the crocodad theory because it was funny.

There is a very good fanfic on AO3 where the theory is mentioned, there is the couple of Dragon x Wani and Wani x Doffy, (apart from mentioning Law x Luffy, but I don't see the point in that part of friends) it could remain as a good past for Wani and why he became a man and his sudden change when defending Luffy and allying with Buggy, it is called The Grand Design of Rise and Burn🙋🙋
