Here’s another video of me practicing in AIT; an Emergency Chricothyroidotomy or “Cric”. Since then I have learned a much more efficient method of insertion that makes use of the ‘Bougie’ that is included in all of our Cric kits.
For those that are not aware of this procedure here’s the thick of it. Under the circumstance that a casualties airway becomes significantly compromised to a point that intubation or other airway adjuncts will not work to maintain their airway (such as maxillofacial trauma, inhalation burns, etc) then your mouth and throat are of no use to me or you, until we can get you to the next echelon of care. You however of course will not make it to the next level of care if you cannot breath. So what I essentially do is cut a hole creating you a new airway into your trachea so that air will enter from this lower point and not have to go through your significantly blocked upper airway.
Claves para entender la Minga Índígena que tomó Bogotá y pide habar con Duque
El significado de la minga se deriva del conocimiento que tenían los aborígenes sobre el trabajo compartido para el bien común.
Desde 1971, a través del Consejo Regional Indígena del Cauca (CRIC), la minga se constituyó como un proceso de resistencia para proteger sus derechos y exigir inclusión.
La primera movilización fue en 2008 y la última gran marcha fue en 2013. Consideran que a pesar de estas acciones sus derechos políticos, económicos, sociales y culturales no se han cumplido.
La minga de este año pide una reunión con el presidente colombiano para exigir seguridad en sus territorios (160 indígenas muertos en los últimos dos años), denuncian abandono social y mal uso de la tierra.
Este año los integrantes viajaron nueve días para llegar a Bogotá. LLegaron el 18OCT2020 y se han mantenido reunidos pacíficamente desde entonces.
El actual vocero de la minga es el líder indígena Hermes Pete.
El presidente colomiano. Iván Duque, se reunió con la ministra de Interior, MinDefensa y la cúpula militar y de policía para "preservar la seguridad de la ciudad".
Duque Aún no ha confirmado su reunión con los indígenas.
