The 2005 @louisjadot Chateau Des Lumières Côte Du Py Morgon earned a 90 point score from Wine Spectator way back in 2007. I picked up a 6 pack a few years back and have been enjoying with maybe this and another bottle in the cellar. This is as full throttle of a Cru Beaujolais as they come and after 14 years, all aspects (tannin, acid, fruit) should be integrated and mature for maximum enjoyment. Most consume Gamay in its youth but being able to see how it ages is a fascinating experience. Personally, I treat Cru Beaujolais like Pinot Noir and look to start drinking about 6 years post vintage and only buy in the best vintages. Este é o delicioso “Morgon ‘Côte du Py’ 2015” do Domaine Jean Foillard, um tinto 100% Gamay, da região de Morgon — o mais prestigiado Cru de Beaujolais. . As uvas são provenientes do melhor vinhedo da região, o “Côte du Py”, cultivadas de maneira orgânica e colhidas manualmente. A fermentação é natural e o vinho envelhece 6-9 meses em barricas usadas de carvalho francês. Não é filtrado e não recebe adição de sulfitos durante a vinificação. . O resultado é um vinho de cor rubi média e que mostra, na taça, aromas de fruta vermelha madura (cerejas e framboesas), floral, pimenta branca, cravo e madeira. Na boca tem corpo médio-, acidez moderada e taninos leves e macios. Muita fruta e madeira no palato, com longa persistência. . Delícia de vinho!! Muito equilibrado, elegante e com uma estrutura não encontrada comumente num vinho de Beaujolais (lembra mais um Borgonha). Já está no ponto, mas acho que deve evoluir mais nos próximos 5-6 anos!
