I didn’t go super dark on the makeup because I didn’t want to scare off the kiddos at faire. We sell wings and ocarinas and as much as I want to aim for accuracy I had to tone it down hehe. Plus I was running late and totally rushed this look. I hope I still embodied Calypso 🫶🏽

The weather was rainy, so the promenade (one of several events for the Brighton Regency Festival) happened inside the Brighton Museum and Gallery. Everyone was dressed to the nines and I thought there and then "I really should have made a Regency coat 🙃."
This is the first of the two regency outifts I made, and it's giving Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez during the Mexican Independence (in the best possible way). Instead of a shawl I wore a black rebozo made in Chiapas with red embroidery to match with my Brontë shoes from America Duchess (that you all helped me choose for this!).
Many women kindly said that my hairstyle was spectacular, and it was! But also it is not mine! The super talented Ariadne from A La Antigüita (who also cuts and maintains my 1920s bob) dressed the wig in Mexico and packaged it for me to travel.

Another recent project, a wool coat made on a last minute whim supplies from my stash for part one of this season's finale for my void archanist.
I started it with very little design idea, decided I wanted details but clean and having never done braid work but having the cord went "yeah I got this" and laid down some dots to mark spacing and freehanded with narry even a pin used, the braid details with just a straight stitch foot, a dream and steady hands in one afternoon. The whole coat took just a weekend and change basically, but I was delighted with the results!
