Made some undies today for a date I'm going on this weekend. They match a bra I made out of the Jack o’lantern fabric. This will be the first time I've ever had matching bra and undies.

I sewed my old shirt into a pillow
Crazy Dinosaur Lady 🦕🦖
My son is finally finished
This is the petticoat!!! I’m super proud of it :pp it’s the second thing I’ve ever seen from scratch and it only took me like two months because I didn’t buy enough fabric the first time….(I’m still mixing a chunk of trim at the back because I was short so…another trip to the craft shop Oop) but yeah I love it lotsss it’s great for layering and I feel one step closer to my Victorian lady dreams!
This week's little project: some elastic waistband shorts. I altered the pattern to add some pockets and changed the hem a bit. This purple fabric is from my friend's grandmother, and it's been really satisfying to make use of the box of fabric he brought me last spring. Plus here's a gif of my sweet cat Mabel, yawning. 💜💜

Handmade witchy kitty baby bundle 🐈⬛✨ for my sister and future niece
I’m already planning my dress for 2028 Renaissance faire. I’ve got a couple commissions who have been waiting very patiently for me to finish my Bee Dress that I must do first!
I will be posting some sketches as I develop my ideas
Here is the question that I would like opinions on: what should be the next theme? I will do whichever one wins!
Help me choose the next dress theme
Cicada Queen
Mushroom Queen
Moss Queen
Other (leave in tags- I read them all)
Your bee dress is simply incredible! I'm in awe of all the work you put into it.
My question is, what kind of fabric did you use for it, and was that fabric chosen for ease of embroidery, or how it wears, or for some other reason?
Thank you :D !!!
The fabric was chosen for all of the above. The burlap weave of this upholstery fabric meant that there were dots in a grid shape already in the fabric. That made mapping out the hexagons and flowers significantly easier! The fabric is also pretty light weight and breathable, but strong enough to take on the extra weight of the thread without bunching or sagging. It also just reminded me a little of a bee, as the fabric up close is a little fuzzy :)))))
There were cons for this as well though. The fabric was VERY hard to pleat, and it took several rounds of basting the pleats together, measuring them, undoing the stitches and redoing them before I could confidently get it under the machine. This also means that my mistakes are a lot more visible, as you can tell if a flower is off mark!
