sypnosis : After growing incredibly close through late-night texts, Y/N abruptly cuts ties with her close friend Juhoon to focus on a new school crush. But when her new romance unexpectedly falls apart, a regretful Y/N decides to reach out and face the friend she left behind unprepared for how much things have changed in her absence.

Juhoon and Y/N became close out of nowhere, exchanging texts now and then until they grew inseparable. Y/N always sensed that Juhoon kind of liked her at some point, but she always brushed it off, thinking she was just overthinking. Little did she know, her suspicions were entirely true—he just never found the right moment to say it.
Then, Y/N met a guy who went to her school. They fell into a situationship, and as her feelings for him grew deeper day by day, her attention completely shifted. The more she talked to this new guy, the more she found herself distancing herself from Juhoon. Her replies to Juhoon became shorter, slower, and less frequent, until their once constant late-night conversations dwindled to almost nothing.
Eventually, out of a misplaced sense of loyalty to her situationship, Y/N decided she needed to completely cut off all the other guys she was talking to "out of respect." The final decision came unexpectedly and unfiltered: she blocked Juhoon out of nowhere, without warning or explanation. Juhoon, on the other hand, was left completely dumbfounded. He had already felt her slipping away over the past few weeks, but he never expected a total blackout. Because they hadn’t fought or argued, he decided not to reach out and just let it go. He tried to convince himself that she must have had her reasons, but the lack of answers still bothered him.
Two months later, Y/N's situationship fell apart. She found out the guy had been talking to his ex the entire time and had finally gotten back with her. Brokenhearted and full of regret, she realized she had thrown away a genuine bond for someone who didn't even value her. She couldn't stop thinking about Juhoon. How was he doing? Was he mad at her?
One afternoon, Y/N finally gained the courage to unblock Juhoon and sent him a request on Instagram. He accepted it almost instantly and followed her back. Still, she sat staring at her screen, terrified to type. Would he leave her on read?
At night, she finally sent the message:
Y/N: Hi Jju ! I hope ur doing good , I just wanted to clarify on why i blocked you , i was actually talking to a guy and we were totally on a kind of situationship so i just kind of removed and blocked all the guys , but now he got back with his ex anyway , you have the right to be upset with me , that was a stupid decision , i blocked you out of nowhere with no warning or explanation, i’m really sorry
An hour passed. Just as Y/N began to spiral into thinking he hated her, her phone buzzed.
Jju: Oh hi , don’t worry i understand, it was kind of unexpected and random but i totally understand(22:15)
Y/N: i’m sorry if i hurt you or something i’m deeply sorry
Jju: it’s okay don’t worry sincerely
Y/N: so how have you been ?
Jju: well things are great , Me and guys are participating in a band tournament next month so everyday is practice and i got a girlfriend !
Y/N stared at the words, completely frozen. The shock hit her like a wave, followed closely by a heavy, hollow ache in her chest.
Y/N: oh a girlfriend, congrat jju
Y/N: anyway goodnight jju and take care it was nice catching up with you
Jju: good night to u too y/n !
Locking her phone, Y/N was left alone in the quiet of her room, completely consumed by remorse. She had sacrificed a real, consistent connection for a temporary distraction, and now she had to live with the fact that she was too late. And the only thing she was left with is remorse.
