God I'm sooo excited about the high-level intrigue being really foregrounded in the Mighty Nein show because Wildemount really is just Like That. It's the most fucked up continent of all time. Like seventy percent of Exandria's problems worldwide at minimum are caused by evil bastards from Wildemount. It is the most brutal, ruthless continent to the point that like half of its landmass actively, almost willfully wants you dead. Everyone from Wildemount is unhinged because everyone is doing The Most just to get by. They all treat life like it's kill-or-be-killed and frankly, given what it's like over there, they're not even unjustified in thinking so. The spectrum of evil in Wildemount characters, ally and enemy and everyone in between, runs the fucking gamut, because that's kinda just how it is over there. Looking at the alignment spread is insane. The Gentleman, Essek, and Vess deRogna are all neutral evil alone, and that's just people who are varying degrees of allies to the Nein. Wildemount just engenders this kind of energy and it's the best. My most beloved horrible continent that wants to consume everyone living on its surface so bad.
