Welcome to my inaugural blog post. The object of this blog is to share some of my really great fashion finds. Let's face it- the economy isn't getting any better, and we all need to save money more than we think we should. But just because we need to save money doesn't mean we have to dress like slobs. There are some truly great finds in consignment shops, discount stores and even thrift stores. And where would we be without eBay?
It was recently announced that the average woman will spend about $102,000 on clothing, shoes and handbags in her lifetime. Personally, I think that number is on the low side, but isn't that crazy? There has to be a way to bring that number down some. I vow not to post anything on this site more than $100 (unless it's vintage Chanel, then all bets are off).
To prove my point, I'm going to share my great finds on this blog. We'll begin with two handbags that I found recently. The first comes to us from Plato's Closet in Mishawaka, IN, and discovered this bag hanging in their purse section:
For those of you unaware of what this might be, this is a Marc Jacobs Miss Marc tote bag. This bag would retail anywhere between $80-110. I found my steal for $20! Savings: $60-90!
My next find was courtesy of T.J. Maxx (you know, the store that wants to make a Maxxinista out of all of us):
I love Steve Madden. His shoes are super comfortable and always in style. Here we have one of his handbags that would normally retail between $87-95. I purchased this one for $40! Total Savings: $47-55. What's also great about this bag is that is has a chain shoulder strap, which any fashionista would recognize as a signature of Chanel bags.
I have some more great dresses and shoes that I cannot wait to share with everyone, just as soon as I take the pics. Happy shopping!
