The idea that Roathe sends his conscripts to spy on Drifter is so funny to me because I can imagine that the Conscripts, with a mind of their own (is this OOC?) while they're spying, find out they like 1999 and try to find excuses to go back there. Maybe they happen to try the food idk. Or maybe it's just one of them idk.
I suspect it wouldn't be long before Roathe catches on and they start to steal stuff to bring back to show Roathe. Maybe he starts asking for stuff directly.
Eventually, during one of the times Drifter goes to see Roathe he sees something in his desk that is clearly out of place and then he'd have to come clean about everything and that it's how he found about Drifter's other partner.
