- Not the amount of energy, but HOW it’s expended
- examples: sharp, smooth, toss, limp, bouncy, flick, clunk, growing
• Percussive energy
- The nature of being detached
- sharp start and stop
- sudden and abrupt
- examples: flick or thrown
• Sustained energy
- The nature of being smooth
- flowing or drawn out
- examples: melty or gooey
