Transformers Timelines Comic Edition Bumblebee and Megatron
This felt like a pretty quick turnaround. I doubt, if they're going to do any more Heart of Steel designs, that we'll see them for a while, but if these two sets were popular enough, hopefully this won't be the last of them. I know I said last time that I'd like to see an Insecticon 3-pack, but my friend brought up how he wants Shockwave, and having both Oppy and Bee makes me want more Autobots as old-timey trains, and... I think these guys, as a series, just have a good presence. I think I'd honestly be happy with anything.
Bumblebee: Sure is an interesting little bug. Absolutely beautiful little train mode, quite a good and posable robot mode, but he has some oddities. The feet are really good, but constructed a bit oddly, the shoulder pads feel a little too big. Biggest issue I have is there's such a specific order or operations to getting that chest to compress into a train, and it's such a level of complexity over what everyone else is. Also, while he has great weapon storage in vehicle mode, his hands are a little loose, and I wish I could store things in robot mode as well. TL;DR, he looks great, but has the most qualms of the line so far.
Megatron: Now this one is on the same level as what we got with Oppy and Screm. Megs has great posability, though his shoulders do get in the way sometimes, and his transformation is pretty fun, with a few small tweaks on usual movements. The arms might be hard to line up on the first attempt or two, but he's a fantastic little cannon. And he rolls really well on those big wheels! I was not expecting that.
Overall, I think the first set is a bit more solid, but this one is nothing to sniff at either. Bumblebee is a bit tricky to transform and has some minor issues, but both of these guys look great, and having the four of them together make a great set. I'm looking forward to any more Hearts of Steel designs we get in the future.
