Obi Wan lives alone on Tatooine, being a hermit and losing his mind slowly, when one day a girl shows up. She's about nine, with her ginger hair and an attitude that he recognizes. She tells him that the two of them are going to rescue her mother and Obi Wan has no say in the matter.

Obi Wan is confused but too intrigued by the kid so he goes with her. The kid refuses to say her mother's name, saying she's been 'trained to well by Cody to do that'. Obi Wan panics because of the possible mention of Cody and tries to ask more. The kid is very tight lipped but refers to her aunt exclusively as Ba'vodu and says that Cody is the only name she isn't supposed to use a code word for. Obi Wan basically learns that this girl's mother, and this father figure named Cody, told her stories of a great Jedi master who could help them if he was ever found. Obi Wan doesn't learn much but what he does know is the girl is Mandalorian, somehow Cody is involved, and given the sass and force sensitivity of the girl, this is his kid.

But Obi Wan Is sure Satine is dead so now he's panicking trying to figure out who he could have slept with that was Mandalorian, who had a sister, and Satine's eyes, that is NOT Satine.

Obi Wan and the kid get on an imperial ship and Obi Wan realizes the kid is pretty well trained, recognizing mandalorian and clone trooper fighting styles. The two get to the cell where the girls mother is being kept and low and behold it is none other than Satine.

Satine immediately hugs and scolds her daughter for launching a safety mission and then freezes at the sight of Obi Wan who just stares. The daughter, not realizing she just caused the reunion between her biological parents, is just like 'I found him in the sand buir, isn't that cool??'

The three escape only to meet the real Mandalorian rescue mission who also happen to be trying to rescue Satine at the same time, which is lead by none other than Cody. Cody who runs immediately to Satine, not realizing that Obi Wan is there, as he tries to ascertain if she's okay. He sees the daughter and immediately picks her up, even though she's nine now as she pouts, and scolds her for running off and trying to be a hero when they just want her safe.

Obi Wan watches and realizes somehow and someway the three are a family unit. That the daughter leans into Cody for safety, the way Cody won't stop holding Satine's side since she's a little unsteady.

And then Cody sees Obi Wan and short circuits.

They all get away and the daughter is sent to hang out with her Ba'vodu, Bo Katan, in the cockpit while the three sit and talk. Obi Wan finds out that Satine survived her stabbing but was hidden for safety, where she ended up having her and his kid. Satine was trying to rebuild or at least understand where Mandalore was after the rise of the empire when Cody defected from the empire and was sent to Mandalore to represent the rebellion. From then on, Cody ended up staying on Mandalore due to his growing care and love for the little Kryze family. Cody effectively became the kid's father, knowing she was Obi Wan's, and he and Satine started something that felt right between them. But Satine and Cody do admit that it always felt like Obi Wan was haunting the two(three) of them.

Obi Wan is just kinda floored and has to explain how the girl went looking for him and everything that happened as they tried to rescue Satine.

i wonder what your thoughts on a satine/ or & cody dynamic are

Thank you so much! Satine is the Duchess of my heart and I just want good things for her.

I have mixed feelings on Satine x Cody as a ship, I actually wrote out my ideal version of that ship in a post here but that's more au territory. I don't think the ship would exist without Codywan and Obitine as Cody and Satine never interact in canon, but share a very important figure in their lives. I think it could be interesting if done right, but I fear it could never be done without Obi Wan involved in some way and that makes me feel bad for the ship because a good ship should be able to exist with just the two people within it.

I think Cobitine is intriguing as a concept, and often some of my worlds border it without going into it, but I still feel like it's Obi Wan that brings the two together rather than anything else.

I would love a universe of Satine and Cody meeting before either meet Obi Wan. Maybe some form of switch au where Obi Wan is the Duke of Mandalore and Satine is a Jedi knight with Cody as her commander. Maybe that's finally a time I could get behind Jedi x their commander.

In my happy future au, Cody and Satine grow close as friends when the war ends since Cody goes on to become a representative for the Clones in the senate. He is introduced to Satine through Obi Wan but is professionally introduced through Padme. Satine surprises Cody by being very adamant about Clone rights, especially about rehabilitation and finding a ways to incorporate them into society again. Through some very late nights the two come to write out an act proposal for the Council of Clans and for the senate.

The act is that since clones are descendant from a Mandalorian, then the act grants them Mandalorain citizenship once it is passed. One of the abandoned domes of Mandalore will be rehabilitated into a home for Clones where they will receive training for a multitude of jobs, given medical care for the physical and the mental, and given space to recover from war and look forward to the future. The clones won't be forced to stay on the dome, or even forced to go, they are just given the status of human being and a place to go to call home if they so wish. They can come and leave as they wish. There will be Mandalorian specialists that live on site, those who know how the mind of a warrior works, and clones are invited to become traditional Mandalorians if they wish.

Satine and Cody grow close through the creation of this act and while Obi Wan still travels for Jedi business, Cody officially starts to live on Mandalore(both to be close to his brothers but also for Satine). Don't worry Rex takes the senate front while Cody takes the Mandalore front. The two are so close during that time that it's Cody who is with Satine when she goes into labour prematurely since Obi Wan is away on a mission. He stays with her through the complications until Obi Wan can get there.

I think they would be close friends. They each judge others and can communicate in looks. They have tea where they complain about Obi Wan and his stupid choices, and I think they get each other on a layer that others might not be able to. They would be great friends, I really think that.

But if they were partners? I could see Satine being conflicted because she hates war, but Cody would have never been made without it. I could see her tracing his face scars and him telling her not to worry since he got it young, but her worrying more. I could see him memorizing her favorite small things, calla lilies, shells, perfumes, and sending them to her when he's away on the war front. I could see her trying to 'spoil' him when he comes to Mandalore, trying to shower him with rest and love because he deserves it for fighting so long and so hard. I could see him listening to her rant and ramble, understanding every word and finally understanding what his brothers meant when they talked about love.

When you throw in my fankid, Senaara, she has an interesting relationship with Cody throughout the universes, there's an interesting(at least to me) layer to this all. In my three parents, three kids au, where Padme survives, Anakin doesn't turn, and Obi Wan ended up with baby Senaara, leading to the three parents raising three kids together, Cody is Senaara's favorite uncle. He's the one that seems to get her meltdowns are something more than just being a toddler and Senaara trusts him to take care of her Satine felt doll whenever he's over.

Same thing kinda happens in my Mando Heir Au(the one I'm posting about right now) where Senaara is introduced to a lot of people after sneaking onto Obi Wan's ship, but she chooses Cody as her favorite(after Obi Wan). She keeps asking Obi Wan if she can keep Cody and Obi Wan is very confused now what she means by that. Senaara doesn't know Obi Wan is her dad, but she keeps asking him if Cody can be her dad and Obi Wan doesn't know how to respond.

What is this?

This is an event celebrating the Codytine rarepair, running for 3 days in October! We would love to see art, writing, poetry, edits, cosplay, or any other form of creation you're inspired to make.

What should I do?

Keep an eye on this blog for updates on the event - coming next will be a form to submit prompt ideas! After that, we will shift into voting on and finalizing prompts, which will be shared in early August. Then it's creation time - feel free to drop in and @ us to share progress or get inspiration! There will be a collection on AO3 to compile everyone's works as well.

Nope! SFW and NSFW prompt fills are both accepted, as long as everything is properly tagged both on Tumblr and AO3. Please be sure to tag all major trigger and content warnings as well. Canon divergence, gender/role swaps, and AUs of all kinds are accepted with open arms! Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi may be conditionally invited to join the party if you so choose, but please remember that Cody and Satine's relationship should be the primary focus of your work.
