Summary:

Cody chuckled, the sound somehow managing to produce another valiant effort of arousal out of Satine. Four to five was around the time she needed a break before her body could take any more, and she was feeling it.

Cody knew this, because he knew her body like the back of his hand. Obi-Wan also knew this, which is probably why he was starting to pant in desperation, tied up in his chair as he was. Cody saw them before Satine, and before she could even begin to think of a solution, he had pushed her against the wall, bracing Satine's head with his hand so it didn't hit the stone. She had never been this close to him before. And, she couldn't help but remember all the times he said he was born to be a weapon, a sword in the Republic's hand— and yet here he was embodying the perfect shield.

He didn't need to remind her to be quiet as they listened to the boots of the armored soldiers march past them. She felt him breathing, so slow and controlled, and tried to match him. It was easy with them so close.

When Cody finally deemed the coast clear, he took a step back and looked Satine up and down to check her status.

Satine tried to will her heart to stop pounding so loudly.

This fits into a larger au I have where the clone wars starts about a decade earlier, basically coinciding with the Mandalorian civil wars, and Cody is deployed alongside Obi-Wan in protecting Satine during that year on the run.
