There wasn't any games or toys on Kamino, that was a natborn idea. Little cadets were like loth-wolves pups - everything they did was a training for their future. Time was too precious to waste it on fun. At least that was a plan. And every time, they looked at it and decided it was bantashit. They rebeled against their purpose by being kids. And he did the same by looking the other way.

Ione and Fenris
Spoken, never sung, in Kirkwall. Etched in alley walls, vibrating under the rubble, a city’s memory of a love that burned through it.
He never prayed until she laughed and even then, he never told her. But every night, he confessed to the skies, whispering half prayers. “Let her touch me like I am not ash.” “Let her smile like I am not ruin.” “Let me hold her and still be free.” She would bring him wine and ask him questions too soft to be dangerous, she never left her doors locked for him, and when she came to him crying, he would fall to his knees, not to beg but because he couldn’t bear to see her weep. He would hold her face, thumb tracing her cheeks, whispers fanning over her. “Thank the skies that you are cruel enough to love me.” She kissed him like mercy and he flinched like he deserved it.
Kirkwall still speaks of them, not as lovers but as weather. Ione was the rain that fell with no clouds and Fenris the was the breeze that followed.

More Where That Came From
Rating: T Pairing: Cody/Rex Tags: Making Out, Established Relationship, Teasing, Assholes in Love, Rex in the 212th Attack Battalion Summary: Cody’s in a mood that shouldn’t be indulged—looking for entertainment and a target to provide it. Rex indulges him. With art commissioned from @cacodaemonia!
Rex holds his blasters steady, both up, both aimed down range. He breathes deep, still but not tense. He doesn’t let Cody distract him.
The final round of the sim starts, and Cody sighs, armour clicking as he shifts against the wall behind Rex, watching with a critical eye. If Rex misses because Cody’s here he’ll never hear the end of it.
The first target snaps up at the far end of the range, moving fast from left to right. Rex squeezes the trigger. It pings green, two popping up to replace it. With each target it’s easier to ignore Cody’s eyes burning holes in the back of his skull, slipping into the flow that he needs.
The sim ends, and his scores appear on the terminal. Only one miss, but slower than he’d like. Above general average, but below his.
It’s Cody’s fault.
“That was a little slow for an ARC,” Cody says, as if his PB in twin blasters isn’t lagging behind Rex’s.
“That your professional opinion or a personal one?” Rex slots the sim’s blasters back into their holder by the terminal, collecting his own real ones. “Sir.”
“It can’t be both?” Cody has that tone that Rex is all too familiar with: amused without any of it showing on his face.
Playing with his food.
“No, sir.” Rex finally lets himself look at Cody. His arms are folded loosely over his chest, posture open and calm, his expression mildly curious. He’s so full of shit. “If it’s both, how can I know if I should tell you that I’ll endeavour to do better, sir, or to shove your opinion up your ass if you can make enough space in there next to your head.”
