Mike Schafer photographed C&NW passenger train No. 1 (formerly the Kate Shelley 400) at West Chicago, Illinois in April 1970. Based on the June 22, 1970 timetable, this train left Chicago at 5:00 PM and was scheduled to arrive in Clinton, Iowa at 8:00 PM, a distance of 137 miles. Trains 1 and 2 ran daily, Monday thru Saturday and as trains 11 and 12 on Sundays and holidays.
