The 12/60 was a development of the 12/50 with a longer stroke twin carburettor version of the 1645cc engine devised for luxurious touring. The sportier ones came with the Ducksback body style, followed by the Beetleback some of which were good for 80mph, but 75mph and 30 miles per gallon should be expected. Four wheel brakes were initially optional. They were also available on the contemporary Silver Eagle chassis.
