i just wanted to tell you that earlier i was linked one of your drawings by a friend, and i immediately recognised it as yours, and they said "yeah it's the eyes isn't it" and it made me think about that. like, the way you draw eyes is so different from what i'm used to and some would say in stark contrast to the rest of the style, and i actually really like that. it's kind of like your personal calling card.
I mean yeah, others like to mention that it’s lazy, or I just get harassed for drawing like it - but I enjoy drawing them that way?? which is what is important. because you know, this is just a hobby!! (- and have they ever heard of a ‘style’ before? yikes)
but even so, I find that it lets me give the character more expression/character with those eyes, despite how simple they maybe, idk - rather than isolating the emotion to them, I try and make sure that everything else follows suit - whether it be in pose and/or facial expression - yeh it makes things a little more difficult to plan, but I like to think it works? :D

on kinda the same topic you're talking on, does it ever strike and amaze you how privileged and special our generation is to have been born at this time? i mean, this is the very first computer age. as human beings we could have been born millions of years earlier or possibly even millions of years (but more realistically, hundreds of years) later, but we weren't. we were born now, at the dawn of computers and information and space travel and everything. people in the future will talk about us.
I don’t really think about it all that often, which honestly speaks for itself a bit. Privileged is definitely accurate. I mean considering that right this moment I’m painting something on my Cintiq, no muss no fuss, while also listening to people I’ve never met play DnD on a podcast, while on another screen being able to reply to you. And it’s all just a part of the daily routine! So when I do actually stop to think: holy shit this is amazing; I’m so happy that I’m alive now to have access to these things! In another respect, as well, sort of hits home just how transient things are. But mostly I just find it very impressive. Will continue to be impressed as it all continues to change.
