I think imma buy a new laptop to upgrade from my netbook. something very small (<12"), with good battery life, runs Linux well, and performance is not important at all
I was thinking about getting a chromebook, one that is known to work with mainline linux. I dont really have an issue if it requires some Fuckery to get working, thats part of the fun. probably gonna get the cheapest one I could find.
but the end goal is to make it a daily driver, carry it around everywhere.
dear reader, are there any obvious flaws with this? are there better alternatives that fit my needs <$100? are cheap chromebooks durable enough to be used as a daily driver?
Despite hating chromeOS and chromebooks, the community around them is amazing. They're so determined to make their fucked operating system and fucked computers slightly less fucked through super cool software. Google has been just the perfect amount of lenient so it's interesting when you can do something, (eg use linux software) but also restricting enough so it's a challenge. Many things

and yes I did install linux and delete chrome os
