Cookie Dough and Co.
It's just recently when I've shown my interest in baking, and that started when I decided to broaden up my knowledge and skills in cooking and preparing food. Without second thoughts, I started purchasing my baking needs (and I thank my jowa for keeping up with me).
My first ever baking sesh turned out a lil bit fine but with a slightly burnt cookie lol! I was thinking that I needed to come up with a rich brown color of cookies without considering that my cookies won't turn out dark brown because I used light brown sugar. 🤷🏻♀️ The thickness and texture was an issue, too. I used my butter without placing it on room temp before mixing it with my sugars. Ending? An overly thick cookies and slightly raw middle. Nevertheless, it still tasted good.
My frustration took me to a next level. I was down to my next baking session and I made sure that I did no mistakes that time. My ultimate goal was to produce a chocolatey, chewy inside and crisp outside cookies. I bought some additional nuts (since my jowa goes nuts over nuts!) and chocolate bar. I made sure I used my butter correctly that time so it would make my cookies spread out evenly. And btw, using fine sugar also contributed to the spreading of the cookies. After minutes of baking, I finally achieved my preference for a nicely baked cookies! That's when I realized that baking is indeed something that anyone would love to do for the rest of their lives.
Here's my masterpiece! 👀
With all the accuracy and trial-and-errors, it takes a lot of courage to start baking. You need to be patient and precise at the same time. It’s far from just cooking and adding a pinch of salt and pepper to adjust the taste. That’s why I made sure I also invested with proper baking measuring cups and kitchen scales.
My next project is Cream Cheese Stuffed Red Velvet Cookies and Nutty, Chocolatey Banana Cake. Make sure to watch it out on my next blog!
