Was asked out for a drink for the 1st time via Instagram DM last week. We have mutual friends so thought he must be a good guy, I was bored and needed a drinking partner so went with it.

He said he had a birthday thing to go to at 6pm so we meet at 4pm which was perfect for me as it meant we could have a quick couple drinks and go our separate ways.

He lives 4 hours away from London due to a career move, which is cool, I’ve been in a long distance relationship where my boyfriend lived in LA so its doable. Hard. But doable. However, I wouldn’t recommend it.

He seemed cool, easy to chat to, good job etc. Very posh, made me speak wellllllllllll good too.

He brought up his ex twice in the 2 hours we were together. I didn’t even ask about past relationships, because I didn’t really care. *Warning sign 1/Alarm bells/flashing lights*

I made sure he got to the party on time as all I could think about was getting home, into my PJ’s and curling up on the sofa with a good movie.

He sent me a message the day after we went for a drink and it had no context, nothing for me to really reply to so I just left it. There wasn’t a spark I’m not in the right headspace at the mo to be dating and I don’t wanna waste his or my time.

Anyway, he comes back to London every weekend and my predictions that I’d only hear from him towards the end of the week was CORRECT. Shocker.

Fast Forward to 4 DAYS LATER. He messages me asking how my week was and comments on an Instagram story I posted 4 DAYS AGO.

Where is the consistency? Where is the drive?

Is this the game guys play now? I can’t actually keep up.

Am I supposed to respond. Do I want to respond? Not particularly. I’d rather plan out what I’m having for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next few days.
