the new chained titans episode had me thinking... in lots of marichat fanfiction after kwamibuster we see adrien or chat noir asking ladybug to bring back multimouse because she was a really good hero.
but in chained titans, chat noir said the burden of a miraculous is too much to pass onto another person, so perhaps he may not really want marinette to have a miraculous- like shes stressed as it is, a miraculous would just ruin her, so a a side of him is happy that marinette "dosent want to be a hero" even though he knows she would make a fantastic hero- only second to ladybug!
so imagine if maybe nino or someone asks why marinette never got a miraculous, because shes such a strong, creative person and the only one who never got akumatised (until heartfixer, and that too she managed to resist the akuma after like 2 minutes), ladybug says she'll think about it but she dosent know and all throughout this happening chat became unusually quiet. later when the other miraculers leave, chat noir asks to talk to ladybug privately. ladybug agrees.
"see, i know marinette as a civilian" and ladybug then realises how serious this is. he has never revealed anything about his civilian life, keeping up the secret identities thing better than even ladybug (lets ignore the fact that like 10 people know her identity already). he continues by saying marinette is busy enough, with her school, commissions, bakery time, her obvious anxiety, etc. she would probably get extremely overwhelmed with hero work.
he says, it wouldnt be right to give the girl who is basically a civilian ladybug any more responsibilities--especially when she takes them all so seriously--he just knows if marinette were a hero she would start blaming herself for every time her friends get akumatized!
"marinette would be an absolutely fantastic hero, she'd only second to you!!" he starts,
"but i could not bear to watch marinette get hurt--physically or emotionally-- as a hero. i mean, its totally up to you..." chat clenches his fist, staring pointedly at away from ladybug. ladybug couldn't contain her chuckles from the irony of it all.
"ive got no more miraculous to give out anyways, chat! marinette... wont become a miraculer. dont worry kitty"
(maybe this is where marinette starts piecing things together about chats identity...)
i know he wont but like the only one in miraculous who doesnt have a miraculous rn is chloe so what if chat noir chooses her as his stand in
So... question. Am i the only one who felt that the entirety of Chained Titans felt like an AU fanfic? Like everything from the weirdness around Marinette suddenly not having decided on a name for the hamster, to the way the powers were breaking rules left right and center. (I counted 6 broken rules with a possible 7th, spread across 5 miraculous), To the sloppy logic-jumps in the Renardette/Trionix set-up, like Nino arguing a position Ladybug doesnt present, Alya instantly jumping to Nino's plot, Trionette breaking the hastily established rules about being a back-up hero. Guardiennette arbitrarily deciding that a civilian knowing the Herolair is totally fine actually with Bustier and the metro. the choice to upgrade the metro to an official Batcave at all... like there was just so much that felt off in that episode? It didnt feel real to me. I cant be the only one right?
