Law’s smile just gets me because how long has it been since someone said those words to him...
Today is father's day! Who is/are your favorite OP dad(s)?
absolutely could not choose just one. happy father’s day, folks.
The tragic case between Doffy and Cora is that Doflamingo continue to call him Corazon because he doesn't want to acknowledge that he murdered his own baby brother. Calling him Rosinante would make him face the reality of what he had just done.
Why do you crush my heart like this? I had just managed to forget the sadness ;_;
Good points about Doffy wanting to distance himself from Rosinante, although I'm not so sure if that's so much about acknowledging that he murdered his own brother - he does says something like "Why do I have to kill my family again", after all, so on some level he's acknowledging his deed.
It might be more of a subconscious thing? Consciously he's all "Woe is me, I have to kill my brother" (and deflecting the blame at the same time, as abusers do - he is choosing to kill Rosinante, Rosinante isn't forcing him to do anything), but subconsciously he might be more divided on the matter?
I dunno, but thank you for raising interesting points!
The bubble has disappeared

This message could really be for both Law and Doflamingo but it’s obviously directed at Law and it hurts because the last thing Cora wanted was to break Law’s trust so soon after finally earning it
I’m sad all over again
And while reading it through this time I...do kind of understand where Law got the belief that Corazon wanted him to do what he couldn’t in taking Doflamingo down (since Cora basically admitted it himself that his initial thought on hearing Law’s full name was that), his feelings had obviously shifted by the end and the only thing he wanted in those final moments was to know that Law could live his own life the way he wanted to.
(I’m also going to take this time to say that if you haven’t read at least the summary of Law’s novel please go do that because it goes over the earliest days of the Heart Pirates and it’s just...nice to know that he finds them so soon after being left alone again here. I know there’s some discussion as to whether it’s officially ‘canon’ but. It is in my heart.)
no words, only pain
