i think its really neat how you have the obvious parallel of luffy and roger with their child-like sense of adventure, but also whitebeard and ace who have more family-oriented goals (and you can really see that in ace in how he settled with the whitebeard pirates and stopped senselessly throwing himself into danger just for the hell of it, because now he had a family, and a man he respected to call his father) and i only realized this recently, but you can also trace a parallel between oden and sabo as nobles who felt suffocated in their sheltered lives and wanted above all else to see the world and break the status quo

SPOILER WARNING
So, I had read the newest chapter of One Piece, CHAPTER ONE FREAKING THOUSAND, and I found a scene, a panel, that really interested me, and I really love it. So this is a redraw of the last panel. I read through the chapter, and was like, this is a great chapter! It doesn’t encompass too much, but it reveals quite a bit of significant data, like where Ace had gotten the vivre card, and that Luffy just happens to be fulfilling Oden’s telling of the future, according to Yamato. And while we still don’t exactly know what Luffy had said, though it was the same as Roger, it is still ever so majorly implied, especially by the last panel, that what he said was what he’s always been saying.
(Also the admiration Ace has for his dad, after literally hating him his whole life, unknowingly is adorable, and ironic.)
Overall, was I pleased with this chapter? Yes! Did I wish it was longer? Yes! But am I satisfied with the way it ended? Yes! Did Oda outdo himself, in my opinion? Yes! Did I scream while reading the last two pages? HECK YES!
