So yesterday I fell asleep in stream, albeit for less than a couple of seconds but it happened. This is the joy of CFS/ME. It will knock you out with no warning and it doesn’t matter what you’re doing. I did shut down stream early and went to the safety of the couch for the rest of the day. It’s sucks entirely ... yes ... but it doesn’t mean I’ll quit!!! It means I will work out ways to keep going and doing what I love. Pixies don’t quit!!!. . . The awesome Gabster saved my sanity earlier and brought me a care package and some bits from home including my laptop, she then kidnapped me so I could have a proper coffee and something decent to eat. There’s a reason I chose to have sofa beds in the house. Not only does it mean that others can stay comfortably but on flare days I don’t have to shut myself away in my room. I can stay in front of the fan, with munchies, drinks and Netflix without too much struggle. Living with Chronic Illness on your own isn’t easy but it’s easier if you plan it and have strategies in place. I do love this sofa bed … even though it took me more than half an hour to pull it out and very tug on it made my shoulders and back and legs feel like they were shattering and being pulled out their sockets. Yeap not every day is fun and laughter and bubbles and giggles and that’s ok … I have to admit it is one of those days when you miss having someone around to curl up on their lap and just fall asleep. Today is a challenging one health wise. I honestly am not sure if I’ll ever get used to the suddenness that CFS/ME knocks you over with no warning. So today, it’s me and a bowl of popcorn, chocolate soy milk and Netflix I’ll be lucky to see out even an episode of whatever I put on but hey it is what it is and it’s not as bad as some ... whether that’s down to looking after myself or it’s leading to something heavier later on I have no clue... 7.30pm on Halloween and I am cwtched up in bed watching Star Trek Discovery with munchies. I am properly struggling today so this year, unlike how I would like to spend it terrorising small children and stuffing them full of sugar so they in turn can terrorise their parents, I’m taking time out for me.
