CDWP secures approval for five projects totaling Rs140 billion. The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved five projects on Monday, including a Rs130 billion major infrastructure initiative to develop a series of roadways, mostly in south Punjab.
The meeting, chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, authorized three development projects totaling Rs9.168 billion and recommended approval of two further projects totaling Rs130 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
A Rs450 million project titled Strengthening the Existing Capacity of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad has been approved to ensure an efficient response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) redesigned project will be funded with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group funds via the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) under a Grant Implementation Agreement.
