The caterpillarmen are so funny me because for some reason there are moths in some thus spoke rohan kishibe story who have stone mask markings, which are completely unrelated to pillar men or vampires.

OH MY GOD??
Telling this to my friend immediately
Nsfw? Dumb question, do your pillar woman have boobs? If so, why, since they don't have nipples? Can't find it in your biology post. Pillar woman have boobs in canon so I'm curious.
Idk what the boob situation is for me, I'm just thinking about that one skyrim theory video on why the cat people have two boobs instead of like 8

In the anime, they do, but you donāt see any in the manga iirc. Pillars as I see them arenāt mammals, so they donāt have breast tissue. No boobs, no nipples, nothing of the sort. The amount of sexual dimorphism present is zero. I canāt think of anything that would set them apart besides reproductive organs. The pillar women in canon are so lame why are they not built like the pillar men!! It doesnāt make sense for them to be all skinny like that if the pillar men that arenāt the named members of the species are still buff as hell!!! Come on!!! Cowards!!!
What is this shit!! Fuck off davpro.
And taking a very quick look at the manga, this is presumably the one singular woman Araki drew.
Even stillā¦a bit disappointing! And I never noticed that one woman earlier, so thatās something. I guess.
And Iām unfamiliar with the Skyrim video but I think the real reasoning is because itās more appealing to a human audience or something. Just based on what little I know.

I haven't watched it either, I just heard it from other people. I called out bird vision because of emphasis and also because they have four cones types and mammals ancestors also had these four cone types but lost half them due to a nocturnal, burrowing life and almost all mammals now only have two cone types. Sure a lot of primates have three cone vision, but humans have terrible night vision compared to other mammals and I assume similar of other primates. It always seems like when god opens a door he also closes another door, why does it have to be that way? To be ultimate is to no longer be bound by the rules of biology, you are everything you could be without much consequence, you can open and close any of the doors, not evolution. Just a sliver breaking limits of biology is enough to only further research by any means possible. Also I find horns as sensory organs interesting, but I never thought of that spec wise because mammals horns seem to be used for attack, intimidation, or for sexual selection, and chose the last one due awkward positioning of them but I guess Wammu was able to use his horn for attack, idk how he would hide that thing beyond supernatural body manipulation. Your explanation on horns are better, especially since at least Wammu can sense with his horn, but it doesn't personally doesn't fit with my pillars. I guess rather than the canon horn my Wammu instead focuses on the senses of his whiskers when he blinds himself. Also bad wording on my part on the cave living thing, they are better at cave living than hominids, but worse than their ancestors. This mostly because their longer limbs make it generally harder to squeeze into spaces as they are more prone to hitting the cave wall while crawling. They have some supernatural body manipulation, but later non hominid like ancestors did too, as that further utilized every possible crevice in case of danger. This body manipulation unfortunately makes the body structure a bit less stable and uv light makes their bodies prone falling apart op top of the instinctual hibernation state. Why? because I said so, not very scientific at all .
They hibernate a lot to conserve energy, especially during times where there there isn't a lot of prey.
Idk if linking will work: https://imgur.com/a/n09X5WV These are just sketches and only one I like is the kars head in the bottom middle, rest is eh at best. Also I find it interesting that your pillars have hair despite being amphibians, but since hair like structures and warm blood convergently evolved in archosaurs before, it only makes sense they could evolve again in vertebrates. I also wonder why your pillar look human despite being so unrelated, I don't have much of an answer to mine so :p
āWhy? Because I said so,ā is so true and real. Sometimes itās just because you say so. Especially true while working with something like this where thereās going to be some kind of supernatural element no matter how much you want to find an explanation.
As for their body manipulation, Iāve actually mentioned this on discord.
Quite catlike to be hypermobile in this way, wouldnāt you say!
I donāt know if youāve seen this post of mine, but it goes over a lot of shit in more detail + has extra shit linked throughout. As for how hair independently evolved again, itās like scales on reptiles. Hair is made of cones of keratin, scales are similarly made of keratin. I donāt think Iād classify my pillar men as currently amphibious, but they definitely have more in common with a newt than an ape. Hair was likely at one point for sexual selection, seeing as pillars have other ways of regulating body temperature, and became more of a cultural status symbol as time went on. I guess you could say that my pillars became human shaped the same reason your pillars have bodies that easily degradeābecause I said so. Haha!
And Iāll be so honest. The reason my pillars arenāt mammals is because Araki doesnāt draw nipples and I wanted to go further with that concept. That, and pillars have a lot of weird quirks that feel like theyāre just dry newts in the shape of muscular men.

Tbh I'm not sure if scientists know how human bipedalism started, so don't worry about not knowing why a humanoid species is bipedal. It's kind of hard to make an evolutionary history of a humanoid species and not just copy common theories of homid evolution, because what other way would it work? This completely vertical body plan basically evolved once from what I know.
The only explanation I can conjure for mine is it was a derived from a behavior that evolved were their ancestors stood on their hind legs for a higher vantage point, due to being risk of being preyed on while also looking for prey themselves. This behavior eventually led to longer legs that are also more apt for bipedal movement, to heighten the vantage point and to be able look around in this state while moving. This trait allowed for the hand like paws to be free, allowing them to hold onto objects while moving without using one's mouth, which incentivized longer periods of bipedal behavior and eventually complex tool usage. With longer and more apt legs led to hominid like hunting, chasing prey with weapons. I hope I worded this right as this is a lot.

Yeah, yeah, I was looking at various theories last night before Iād responded to your ask! Itās really neat to conceptualize, and honestly, probably not a horrible thing that we donāt know. Makes for a lot more to think about, eh? Hominids are strange, strange creatures.
Meerkat ass pillarsā¦makes sense, though, prioritizing hands for carrying and feet for locomotion. What do your pillarās feet look like, actually, in regards to that? More similar to human feet, cat paws, monkey foot-hands? Iām curious! :)
