hi, for the canon scholars prompt:
I was raised in a military compound. most of my education focused around physical training, or functional skills (wilderness survival, vehicle control, stuff like that). mental skills were barely touched onโI learned to write and read and do basic math. thatโs it. kids outside of the orphan care program were allowed to pick more specialized fields, some became Horde engineers or construction workers, you know, the things to keep everything running in the background. the orphans, of which I was one, only got one path, though: frontline fodder.
the other kids sucked and the โmentorsโ did too. I hated them so much. constantly excluded, made fun of, escalating to physical abuse sometimesโฆexcluding the physical things, it feels the same way in this universe. which sucks. however, I think I can handle the social failures better than my headmates. Iโve gone through it before. but I think Iโm worse in the actual school part of this universeโsโฆschooling. whereโs the sparring circles, hello? the weapons? the commands? no, instead itโs lectures and taking notes and writing essays. it feels really weird.
I do like it better than the Fright Zone, though. that shit hurt me in a way Iโll never be able to put into words. the only thing I wish I kept was my physical aptitude.
