Summit Fever (S16E13)

IT'S A HELLUVA VIEW - It’s the middle of summer, and yeah, I suppose it’s cold on the mountain, which explains the hypothermia, but… how the hell do you have the lung and brain findings of someone that died summiting Everest?

Ooh, interesting. I tend to be a little bit leery of this trope. Mostly because my favorite parts of fanfic tend to be the character development and relationship building and sometimes with plotty fics the plot can take over a bit and push those to the background.

So I guess that means I'd rank this trope at about a C-

That doesn't mean I don't like plotty fics though, I do! I'm just a little more choosy about which ones I read. Here are a few case!fics which I really enjoyed:

Summary:  Castiel doesn't know how to explain what happened to him a year ago, only that something killed his friend and a mysterious Alpha appeared out of the blue to make it all go away.

Now he spends his days running a small holistic health shop in LA, unaware that a looming political decision will throw him back into the path of the stranger he's never been able to forget. But how are they supposed to navigate monsters, conspiracies, violent pasts and family secrets when the only thing their instincts care about is making them mates?

Comments: This was actually a really fun political intrigue fic. Oftentimes, fics like this can drag through the slower, research parts, but this fic has something to compensate for that: smut! Desperate denial-filled true-mate smut! And the political conspiracy side of the story and the hunter vs. non-hunter side of the story are just intertwined enough to keep the plot cohesive. Gabriel is pretty fantastic in this fic, and I loved Cas’ employees and the Balthazar cameos.

Sort of an atypical ABO verse where reverse discrimination actual came true. Omegas knocked alphas out of power and now the omegas are in charge and the alphas are oppressed. 

Rating: Teen

Word Count: 21261

Summary: Griff and Lex have agreed to help the Winchesters in their fight against AU!Michael. But first they need to learn some basic hunting skills. And go on their first hunt!

Case Fic with Griff and Lex working a case with Sam and Dean while Gabriel stays at the Bunker to finish binging Netflix shows. "Because having an archangel along would make it too easy."

This is a bridge story between "Salvation Across Universes" and my upcoming sequel to "Out of Hell Leads Up to Light." Otherwise known as Lex and Griff didn't listen when I told them they have to sit out the big fight. Rich characters are so stubborn!
