The fic im looking for is one where something happens to Draco (its a magical accident of sorts I believe) and he needs touch/affection from the first person he sees after the magical accident happens. Harry is the one who Draco sees first and he immediately starts touching him, this is (from what I remember) the very first scene in the fic. I cannot remember very much about it but one scene still plays in my head, Draco drags Harry into an empty classroom between classes and begs for Harrys touch. I think Harry was stubborn at the beginning of the fic but they made an agreement for Dracos sake because the potion (I want to say it was a potion) was so strong.

I’ve seen carpemermaid mentioned on so many rec lists, I felt sure she must be a long-time Drarry writer. Imagine my surprise that she’s only been posting regularly on AO3 since 2016! And in that time she’s amassed an incredible body of work in multiple fandoms and ships. You cannot go wrong with her fics. On the (very) off-chance you’re not yet familiar with her fics, consider this a tasting menu.

The Auror Department is instating a K9 Crup Unit, and Harry is the first to sign up. Turns out the professional trainer is Draco Malfoy, and he has to live with Harry as part of the Crup training programme.

La Petite Mort (2.5K) - (HP) He let his long, slim fingers skate down Al’s side and over the jut of his hipbone. He walked his fingers over the scattered freckles and darker moles that dotted Al’s skin. He wasn’t covered in them, not the way Lily and James and his cousins were, but there were still faint ones, secret ones that only he got to see. He leaned down impulsively and kissed the triangle of moles above his hip, his tongue darting out to taste them.

I LOVE first-time fics, the more awkward the better. Scorpius and Albus are probably my favorite HP ship for first-time fics because they are almost always madly in love. This fic is billed as PWP, but it’s so much more. The two young men are entranced with each other, and you can see it in the accompanying NSFW art.

Pushing Buttons (1.6K) - (HP) Teddy thought living with James and Albus was going to be brilliant, even with Harry's strict warning that they not do anything to threaten the Statute of Secrecy in the Muggle building they moved into. After getting stuck in a lift, he's not so sure anymore. See also: Ten Hours in Absolute Hell.

Gen fic tends to get short shrift in the fanfic world. It’s like if there’s no ship and - even worse - no fucking, why bother? Well, if you skip Gen, you end up missing out on absolute gems like this tale of Teddy Lupin slowly going mad while trapped in an elevator with the Potter brothers. James thinks he’s going to die of starvation, Albus speculates on whether they’ve fallen into an electro-magical pocket dimension, and Teddy thinks his suffering is worthy of an Order of Merlin.

that unnamed other half of me (.9K) - (HP) She couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment she started to feel more for her best friend, she was only aware of the fact that, somewhere along the line, making Lavender laugh filled her with a warm, glowing feeling.

Although in HP fandom carpemermaid may be best known for her Drarry fics, she also writes beautiful femslash. In fewer than 1000 words, this Lavendar x Parvati fic packs a punch. We are taken through the canonical Hogwarts years from Parvati’s perspective as she slowly falls in love with her best friend. I swear my eyes popped out of my head when I got to the ending.

Sun-kissed - (HP) Neville spends a pleasant afternoon in his garden.

Remember how I said carpemermaid arts as well as writes? This illustration of Chubby!Bearded!Neville puttering around in his garden is as pure as HP fandom gets.

All That Glitters Gold (.9K) - (YOI) Coming across another skater crying at the Grand Prix wasn’t that big of a surprise; they all put themselves under an immense amount of stress and an overload of emotions. No, the surprise for Phichit was whom he found crying. Christophe Giacometti.

For obvious reasons Yuuri and Victor get the lion’s share of the love in YOI. I immediately fell in love with Phichit, though. He is the quintessential best friend who can share in someone else’s glory without bitterness. In this drabble, Phichit finally gets what he deserves.

Loose Lips Sink Ships (1.3K) - (VLD) “Come on, you’ve barely had any. You should let me finish that one so you can go get yourself a fresh one,” Lance wheedled, trailing his fingers along Lotor’s forearm. “Man, you have such nice wrists. Is that part of your whole space prince aesthetic? Whatever, it doesn’t matter. They’re so elegant.”

“What?” Lotor asked, huffing out a laugh as Lance traced circles over the inside of Lotor’s wrist. “You are very amusing, Paladin. I knew you’d make excellent company in this atmosphere.”

When I found out a few weeks ago that today was Mary’s, @carpemermaid‘s, birthday, I was so excited because she is one of the reasons that Drarry discord exists! I have had such a wonderful time since I joined it and have made so many wonderful friends, had so many amazing conversations. Now truth be told we’ve never directly talked before, but I remember some time ago, I reblogged your amazing art and headcannons about Prince Harry and Prince Draco and the arranged marriage, which truly was a beauty. So I immediately knew what I’d love to write for you, but unfortunately, I have my exams the entire month and with so many fests coming up, I knew I couldn’t afford to write anything new because it wouldn’t be of quality and hence it wouldn’t make any sense.

So this is a very small one-shot that I wrote literal years ago and have saved in my folders because it is just so close to my heart and the first piece I’ve ever written of anything even resembling romance. Here you go Mary, I don’t know if it’s much to offer but I hope you enjoy reading this little piece.

A smile stretched across her lips as she looked through all of the photographs that she’d taken that day. He looked perfect in every single one of them. She was fascinated by him. The way his hair looked when the wind blew through them, the way he tried to make her laugh by making funny faces, the way he smiled, everything about him seemed so perfect. The pictures in the camera came alive in her mind and seemed to clearly run through her head as she looked through the many that she’d taken to capture all of the amazing moments forever.

 He sat there with a paintbrush in his hand, trying to remember the look in her eyes when she smiled at him, the way her lips titled upwards and the expressions on her face just before she laughed. The way she pushed her hair back out of her vision, her eyes brightly lit and her hands already reaching for the camera. He felt frustrated as he ripped the page out of his drawing book. The painting didn’t do her justice. Not one of the many pieces of paper he’d overflowed the trashcan with managed to capture her beauty or the very essence of everything that made her her.

 When she spotted him the next day, she called out his name excitedly, slinging the strap of her pack containing the camera tighter around her shoulder. But he didn’t respond, his back to her, and seemed to not have heard her. So she caught up with him and put her hand on his shoulder, turning him around gently.

She gasped when she saw his face. “What happened to you?”

He raised an eyebrow and looked at her in confusion. He couldn’t even open his eyes fully and he felt horrible. “What do you mean?”

She stepped forward in response, standing up on her toes and carefully putting her hand through his hair which was a complete mess. She brought it down, her thumbs brushing the black clear circles under his eyes and then traced his cheeks with her fingers as she eventually softly pressed her lips to his. Just as she was about to quickly pull away, her cheeks a scarlet red, she felt him kissing her back passionately.

He pulled her towards him, not wanting to let go of her, his eyes finally completely closing. She let her hands wrap around his neck and pulled his face towards hers instinctively, her eyes staying closed. She wanted to remember this moment forever, the one moment that her camera could never capture, and she desperately grasped onto it trying to keep every single piece of detail trapped in her mind forever.

As he pulled away from her, all he wanted to do in that moment was to draw her and paint her into his drawing pad. That was, until he remembered that he couldn’t. None of his drawings could even come close to the way she looked at that moment.

“I mean this,” she said as she finally let go of him, her hands dropping down to her sides. His arms still hadn’t let go of her waist and as they slowly did he saw her arms moving. He feared that she would bring her camera out. That she’d take a photograph and show him how bad he looked and how much of a mess he was, but instead she stood still and simply asked. "What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Did something happen to you?”

He had promised himself that he wouldn’t tell her, that he wouldn’t show it to her until he had gotten it right, until he drew her perfectly. But now he knew that he never could so he told her that he would show her instead of telling her.

She reached his house, concerned and worried. This was the first time that she hadn’t taken her camera out of her pack in quite some time and she wasn’t planning on doing it anytime soon either. In fact, taking photographs was nowhere near her mind right now. She was far too busy trying to think about the hundreds of things that could be wrong, the thousands of possibilities. When they finally entered into his house, he wordlessly pointed towards the trashcan.

It contained tens of crumpled-up pieces of plain A4-sized paper and she opened them one by one, silently smoothing them over. She didn’t utter a word, she couldn’t, as tears continuously flowed through her eyes and they didn’t seem to have any intention of stopping.

He cringed as he looked at her, looking back down in shame. “Are they that bad?” He asked.

He heard her answer shakily, “These are beautiful. I can’t- I’m not-” she managed to take a pause and wiped at her tears. More managed to spill. “How did you manage to capture me like this? I look…beautiful.”

“You are beautiful,” he said.

“I know, but not this much. This is too perfect. This looks too real.”

“That’s a bad thing, right?”

“No. It’s a good thing. It’s a very good thing.”

Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy + Gregory Goyle/Dudley Dursley - 21st December in the HP Secret Santa(one of my favourite evil geniuses prompting for my other favourite genius, Happy Holidays @lol-zeitgeistic and @carpemermaid!)

“Make them stop,” Harry moaned, hiding his face in the crook of Draco’s neck.

“Would that I could, my love,” said Draco, draining his wine glass. “Would that I could. Yet I am but one man. One lone man against the unstoppable force of a runaway train.”

“The Railway Children were kids and they managed to stop a train with nothing except a pair of red knickers,” Harry countered.

“Is that another of those Disney films? You know I don’t-” Draco was interrupted by a loud grunt from the restaurant floor.

“Make. Them. Stop.”

“One man, Harry. One man, unstoppable force. I have no power here.”

“You have all the power,” Harry hissed into Draco’s neck, pressing so close that they were practically sitting on the same chair. “Greg’s your friend, he’ll listen to you. Tell him to tell Dudley to stop.”

“Big D is your cousin,” Draco smirked as Harry shuddered at the nickname and nearly sent the bread basket flying. “Rather than using Gregory and myself as intermediaries why don’t you simply appeal to his better nature and-”

Another grunt was followed by a cheer.

“Draco, please Draco,” Harry pulled back and fixed large green eyes on Draco’s face. “He won’t listen to me. A small hex, that’s all I’m asking.”

“Muggles, Harry,” said Draco. “Muggles everywhere because you wanted to put your cousin at ease and chose a Muggle restaurant. A plan which appears to have worked rather too well, if I may say.” He nodded to the floor where Dudley let out another grunt.

“For fucks sake Dudley,” Harry snapped. “Give it a rest, you must be at 100 by now.”

“36,” Greg cheered.
