People often criticize Carlos for how he flirted with Lidia at the beginning of the show. But I never saw a problem with it. He was honest about what he wanted and respected Lidia's boundaries. And at least he didn't grab her butt during their first kiss. Yes, because Francisco is supposed to be the epitome of romance, yet strangely enough, his grabbing her butt during the first kiss he and Alba shared after all these years didn't exactly thrill me. Not to mention the fact that he had a wife at the time, with whom he was clearly just for business and his own comfort. Sorry, but Francisco has never been the epitome of virtue. He's always been a hypocrite. I hate it when we're presented with characters who are supposed to be so morally superior in a show, only for the writers to accidentally create huge hypocrites. The whole point is to ridicule the other guy in the love triangle who seemed more problematic at first (because of a biased narrative), but who, once you look beyond the superficial, is the cleaner of the two, not to mention the more morally upright. I'm not only thinking of Carlos from Cable Girls, but also Steve from Stranger Things, or Jeremiah from TSITP.
