I don’t think it’s self insert at all to feel emotionally effected by events that happen to your muse that you put a lot of time into like wouldn’t it be weird to not have an emotional reaction to an emotional event that happens to your muse you play everyday. I’m sure actors get emotional when their characters go through heartbreak. It’s the same type of thing in my opinion
