Rank the seven on their cooking skills (out of 10)
Who do you think is the best at cooking and who do you think is the worst
Basing it on Statius' Thebaid:
Capaneus (2/10 - he seems too much like an ass to cook himself unless he thought everyone elses skills sucked, doubt he participated on many sacrifices that he wasn't forced to attent either, mostly some hunting)
Amphiaraus (6/10 - knows a bit because he led countless sacrifices and offered the rest for the feast afterwards)
Hippomedon (4/10 - possibly some sacrifices for feasts, maybe some knowledge about herbs here and there but mostly too focused on training to put much attention on preparing meals as long as others can provide)
Adrastus (4/10 - old enough to have picked up some more knowledge but i don't think he ever tried much either, he may be able to piece a meal together & a little from sacrifices)
Polynikes (3/10 - i just don't think he ever made a meal for himself or much watched the cooking process, nor hosted many sacrifices/feasts he could try to make smth but what it would end up as is up is questionable, don't think he did great during his exile)
Tydeus (4/10 - probably knows how to take boars and other game apart & roast them, may have managed to provide for himself a little after his exile - but still mostly wouldve reveived xenia on the way so meals were provided)
Partheopaneus (7/10 - if he grew up in the wilderness with Atalanta he had to provide more for himself and likely knows how to make a decent meal, but I don't think he'd be great)
Not giving anyone else more because
1. Aristocracy - they wouldve had slaves and servants
2. They're men, society wouldve mostly had wives & mothers that did most the cooking, with the exception of sacrifices and hunting most of the time
Bonus, non- Statian:
Eteoclus of Argos (8/10 - he chose to live poorly rather than the honors that should come with being a son of a king, very likely had less servants and slaves and possibly prepared meals himself here and there - esp if he's unmarried (as I HC his son as illegitimate) - though i wouldn't say that he lived alone and did it all himself )
