“Um... Hello there! I was just wondering... Is there a spider bakesale going on? Since there is... er, a lot of spiders right now.” It kind of made Alphys want some spider cider herself.

[ ♬ ] To take an opportunistic outlook on the challenge ahead was to regard it as another adventure. Luka, however, was not to play the part of the cheery optimist. Rather, her disposition had taken on a stark contrast; she didn't want to be sitting on the train again, trudging along to a sector that she knew nothing about other than that 'she would not want to be there' if the people she had attempted to ask about it were to be believed. There wasn't much that could phase her too greatly, she liked to believe, and that any obstacles between her and freedom would only serve to irritate her at most.
[ ♬ ] When she finally stretched her legs and stepped off the platform, the android couldn't help but chide herself for not taking the cautionary words in to higher consideration. Fine features contorting in utter disgust, Luka deftly sidestepped the webbing that creeped along the pavement before her. No doubt about it, there was an infestation at hand; one of a much different caliber than what she had witnessed in Sector oo2.
[ ♬ ] Once again grateful for her inorganic build and the innate immunity to the spiders' venom it lent to her, the android thankfully didn't have to trudge too far through the nest and dodge skittering legs for too long before she happened upon something far more interesting than the spiders.
[ ♬ ] Wisps of smoke and a burning glow that traveled along the silken strands as they left nothing but ash in their wake. The cause of them? Nothing as complicated as a flamethrower, nor as simple as a matchbook. No, the source of the flames was none other than a living, breathing man who couldn't be much older than the age she was build to appear as, scattering the embers unaided by equipment one would associate with the task. Was it some sort of magic trick? Or simply an innate ability native the the universe the scientists had pulled him from? No matter the origins, it had left Luka mesmerized.
[ ♬ ] Or at least, it had, until a rather adventurous tarantula had finally reached the end of her boot and began exploring the area around her knee. The feeling of the bristly legs brushing along her flesh, as artificial as it may be, was an unpleasant one even with the thin fabric of pantyhose to dull the sensation. Needless to say, Luka did not respond well, with a shrill whine and a decisive swipe of the hand. Only after ridding herself of the pest did it occur to her that her knee-jerk reaction could have drawn the attention of the man in the top hat.
[ ♬ ] Not wanting to lose face, no time was wasted in straightening herself and clearing her throat in an attempt to restore her cold yet elegant air.
[ ♬ ] "Don't mind me, I'm simply just.... passing through." And totally not staring at you working your fire magic.
A Sticky Situation (event/closed with tsungintou)
Costume set, Megu headed for the train station in Sector 4. Her destination? Why, Sector 6, of course! She had to see what costume Suigintou picked out for Halloween—assuming she was actually dressed up, that is; she’d never seen the doll wear anything other than her usual black dress. But, considering the rewards to the costume contest, maybe she chose to dress up after all…
I wonder what she would wear, Megu thought as she walked down the foggy street. Hmm…I bet she’d look really cute dressed up as a maid! Or a school girl! Or even a—huh? Why can’t I move…?
The girl had been so engrossed in her thoughts that she hadn’t even noticed the gigantic spider web blocking her path, and consequently walked right into it. If she were in her “normal” state of mind, she probably would have welcomed this development. However, unbeknownst to her, the costume had already started altering her personality. Now, like a doctor, she viewed all of human life as precious…including her own.
She twisted and turned, but it was no use. She was stuck. Was there anyone nearby that could help her…? She looked around, but all she saw were mindless NPCs and a giant, black spider twice as large as a human.
…Wait. Giant spider? Uh-oh.
At least for the moment, the spider was feasting on some hapless NPC stuck in the web as well. But, if she screamed for help, it would catch the spider’s attention. What was she to do…?

“I don’t know, shoot a fireball at it or something!”
It’s not often that Dipper can’t think of a plan, or when two Dippers can’t think of a plan. They were cornered by a pair of giant spiders, and at least this Dipper couldn’t even begin to think up a way out. He can only pray that for once, the other one would have some sort of trick up his sleeve that he himself did not.
Spooky Scary Spectacles
Ness realizes within moments that he had made a mistake.
The dang spiders! They’re all over Sector Four, and he came here just to get a scope of the city, but it looks like they’ve covered a chunk of the area in webbing. It’s somewhat messily barricaded and contained for now, but the sight of it is enough to make his skin crawl.
Too bad Jeff’s not here to take a Death Ray to the place. We follow our hero now as he wanders away to head back into the Sector’s safe area, when--
“Oh, hold on! I’ve got it!”
Smaaaaash! He’s swatted a spider flat with a particularly aggressive swing of his bat. Rather than killing the thing, it just sends it staggering off like a cartoon character, safely back to its fellows. It won’t be sneaking up on anyone else today, that’s for sure!
“Whew!” says Ness, paying no heed to the fact he’s addressing a fox in clothing. “That was a big one, huh? The size of that pumpkin over there!”

♡ ; the spiderses
@edogawaconantanteisan
— [ ♡ ] — She's never hated spiders. While not ever reaching Fluttershy levels of adoration, she doesn't actually fear them. 'Leave it or take it' would have been an approximate summary of her thoughts were she not so positive.
At the moment, however, she can't say that she's too fond of the critters. They are everywhere. Everywhere. All she did was blink, and her fake cobwebs were replaced by real ones, her cupcakes decorated with the critters, and oh Celestia, is there one in her mane?!
❝Okay! Not to worry! I'll just... throw a party just for spiders!❞
Grinning madly, the pony's obviously strange plan comes to a close. No amount of premeditated planning, just spiders and tea and balloons and confetti. She sniffs appreciatively when an arachnid bites into a cake and smiles when she swears that another is dancing along to the music. Crazy, the pony may be, but one cannot deny her gutsy attitude.
Well, the guy giving her strange and terrified looks might have something otherwise to say.
There’s something wriggling in the spiderwebs that he’s trying very hard to ignore--it’s a winged person. A fairy or something. And she’s clearly displeased with her situation. “Uh...hold on,” he offers, gathering up his courage.
Shintaro peels the spiderwebs off of her, gently, very mindful of where he was grabbing. She’s like...Tinkerbell, he thinks somewhat deliriously, quickly letting go once it’s clear she’s free of the webbing.
“...A-Are...Are you...all right?” His life can’t get any stranger.
