Abusive people aren’t always abusive.

They can do “nice” things, whether it’s for you or other people.

Abusive people can make you laugh. They can make you feel good. They can genuinely look out for you sometimes and help you.

My point of all this is that this can be really confusing and make someone question the validity of their abuse.

You are valid and aren’t making the abuse up in your head.

It can also create conflicting emotions about the abuser, and that’s also valid.

You don’t just deserve kindness sometimes. You deserve it all the time.

Abusive people can do nice things. They can do good things even. It doesn’t mean they aren’t abusive and that you aren’t valid. You are valid, and you should never be abused.
