Hey!!! sorry i’ve been so absent on tumblr, it’s just i’ve been insanely busy for a mock trial competition (which i broke down crying for lmao) and it turned out my team won third place!! i won best attorney in my room twice, while my sister @victuuri-trashhh won best witness once!! i’m so very very proud of our team!! today has been an INSANELY good day; not five minutes ago i found out i got into an internship at one of the most prominent museums in our area !! :D here are some notes i made to review for science :) also i will be way more active in like a few weeks, first got finals D:
//27.03.17// endless tea, endless essays 😴😴 Only one more lit essay to finish, and then my term is over!! I'd like to say I'll use the break to study and work on my folio, but I'm camping for one week and will most likely be going to parties for the other 😅 oh well, I'll find a way. This term has flown by, and next term is mid year exams, to say I'm nervous would be an understatement... wish me luck! //🎧: Talking To You - Izzy Bizu//
sometimes when i read about the Lord's incoming wrath i dislike him. well not really dislike? but i think of him as this grumpy unforgiving guy who's mad at everyone, and i end up liking Jesus more than him because Jesus is always so kind and forgiving and he's gentle with me when I make mistakes. there is something wrong with this, right?
Hi friend,Never forget that Jesus is God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I do get what you’re talking about if you’re talking about God in the Old Testament vs. God in the New Testament, however, because I used to feel the same way before I read the entirety of the Old Testament. Keep studying His Word, though. Keep learning more about Him and keep growing closer to Him and keep talking to Him. I think you’ll find with some more time and prayer and studying that God is so much more than you think He is right now. He’s not mad at everyone. He loves everyone. He loves everyone so much, in fact, that He sent us His Son. John 3:16. God is good and kind and loving and time and time again has kept His covenant with man. I think I used to take issue with the just part of God (which I think is the same thing you’re struggling with?). I wanted Him to be kind and caring and loving, not… just. Not… punishing. I didn’t understand how a God who is love could send people to hell. But the thing is, my friend, that we must remember that hell is what we all deserve. As humans–as sinners–we all deserve death, but God, through His Son, gives us life. Think of Him as a parent. As a child, you want your parent to say yes to everything you want and to never punish you or tell you that something you want to do/already did is wrong, but as an adult, you can see why your parent had to punish you and couldn’t always let you have your way. They were teaching you, training you, raising you up to be a kind/helpful/contributing member of society. That’s exactly what God is doing, too. He’s teaching us, He’s training us, He’s raising us up to be Godly men and women, and in order to do that, He must be loving, yes, but He must also be just. I pray this helps you and please know that I’m sending prayers up that you continue to grow closer to God each and every day and that you love and trust Him with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. All my love,S.
how to study as a busy student
i personally go through this a lot because i have to balance saturday band, honor band, auditions, performances, history club, national history day with school and nonexistant friends. so here u go, friend!! this is my advice to keep up with your (busy) studying!! ha see what i did there im so funny
1. have a planning system. this is a no-brainer. but honestly you’re going to need something to help you keep track of all your deadlines AND your afterschool activities. it doesn’t have to be expensive or fancy; heck it can even be on your phone. but make sure you’re keeping track of everything.
2. use all the time you can to do your homework. if you’re really behind or you have a lot of homework and not enough time to do it at home, do your homework when you can during school. this does NOT mean trying to set the world record for fastest writer while your teacher is collecting the homework. this means on the bus, waiting for your food/the bus/your friends, those down periods during and between classes, during sports practice, and even during lunch. however do NOT make a habit of this!! i get that its a lot, but please still try to have a life!!! <3
3. set aside a day a week to solely catch up on school work, and another day just to relax. i usually have saturday as my school work day and sunday as my day to relax and prepare for the week. this may seem contradictory, seeing as you may have sports practice or rehearsal on saturday or something. but think of it this way: you’re already going to be working your butt off that day. you might as well keep that flow going and get all your school work together and catch up on any missing assignments. you can also use that sunday off as your motivation to work hard because youre being rewarded with a completely free day.
4. do your homework on friday. please. just do it. this kind of follows the same concept as above: you have school that day anyways, so keep working your hardest. now, if you have no friends like me, this’ll be easy. but if you have plans on fridays (which you should, seriously, go out), stop working 1-2 hours before you have to go somewhere. you can continue any work you havent completed on your catch-up day.
5. drop one or two things. this sounds really painful!!! but being in a lot of extracurriculars and having a nice application/resume is not as nice as your mental health. not being able to balance too many things at once will stress you out and make you sick. like, i used to be in drama club and i also had piano class on wednesdays. once i got older, i realized that these things looked nice on my honor society application, but i didnt have time for what really mattered. (plus i didn’t rly like them anyways.) if you can work your way around it, fine. but otherwise, keep the things close to your heart and drop what you absolutely don’t have time for.
6. if worst comes to worst, talk to your teachers. they will understand, if you’re struggling to be a well-rounded student and keep up your grades at the same time. this doesn’t mean lie or use your teachers as an easy way out. but rather, if everything becomes too overwhelming, talk to someone.
i really hope that helped @ the original anon who asked me this question! sorry this was so late! i’m quite the busy student myself hahaha

thank you guys so much for 100+ followers! i never expected this small studyblr to get this many followers, tbh. as a present, have this tiny masterpost of geometry study resources and tips.
Study Resources
beginning proofs!
a lot of study resources dear god this site is so good
you can never go wrong with khan academy
here’s my quizlet with postulates, theorems, etc because that stuff just has to be memorized (incomplete since I'm still taking geometry)
another geometry masterpost because why not
have some worksheets (but place the answer keys somewhere else)
Study Tips
1. When faced with a figure that seems to make no sense, draw it out. Don’t just redraw the figure; think outside the box. (or hexagon. or irregular shape.) Usually, the diagrams will be too small and vague for you to comprehend. Use a color-coding system to mark overlapping areas, for example. Mark all measurements including those that aren’t on the figure. Draw different lines that aren’t in the diagram, such as maybe a perpendicular a bisector or two, to help look at it from a different angle. (ok, I'm going a bit overboard with the puns here) Looking at the figure in a clean and refined state will help you figure out the answer and its logic quickly.
2. This may have been repeated several times by either your math teacher, parent, or tutor, (in my case, all of them because they’re one person since my dad teaches me math in his free time) but always check your work minutely. If you’re like me, chances are you’ve screwed up heavily on computation just because you did simple mistakes such as multiplying two negatives and entering a positive. It’s easy to perform a quick skim and think you did well, but, in reality, you’ve missed half the questions and now you have a B or something. There’s still algebra and arithmetic in geometry. You’re gonna have to plug in everything twice or thrice to hope for an A.
3. Visuals, visuals, VISUALS! No, K-Poppers, I’m not talking about your bias. Put the posters down. Geometry is the most visually-oriented field in math, which makes it easier than algebra for people like me. Postulates/theorems are often learned word-for-word. This can be confusing to some since sometimes the statements are so lengthy that they become visual white noise. (looking at you, Hinge Theorem) For each postulate/theorem/corollary you write down, add a visual to help you comprehend it. It helps you to understand the way the statement works, which can then aid in application. (aka proofs, geometry’s definition of torture. speaking of which...)
4. Stash all of your postulates, theorems, and corollaries in one place and review them. First quarter’s easy. Then you get past the midterm and have a truckload of statements to remember. In my case, I do that via a Quizlet. For others, they do it in the back of their geometry notebook. In whatever way works for you, make sure you stash them all and review them periodically because at some point in a geometry test, they’ll throw a surprise proof and you’ll have no idea how to solve it. It’s better to be prepared than flunk a 10-point question.
5. I haven’t tried this myself, but my geometry teacher has told my class about a handy index card trick. To cram the night before a test, write down every important bit about the tested unit that you’ll probably forget on an index card. This can be used as an extreme last-minute review before the test to refresh your memory.
