The Bleecker Black from @bleeckerburger. It was my favourite burger for many years, nothing came close, I think I had one every 2 weeks. Then it disappeared. There’s no point going into why, it was a long time ago and it’s nothing a very exciting story, but all that matters is that it’s BACK! Brought back as a DIY kit for St Patrick’s Day this week, pre orders went so crazy that it is now back for good to cook at home. (Fingers crossed it will be back at restaurants) It’s a double beef patty from @aubreyallenbutchers, topped with American cheese, house sauce, with @clonakilty_blackpudding in the middle. When you hold a burger in such high regard for many years the last thing you want is disappointment, but I have to say I absolutely smashed this and it was everything I remember it to be. If it goes back on at restaurants then it’s shooting up to joint first place for me. A lot of people turn their noses up at black pudding, but like a lot of things that’s down to the thought of it rather than the taste. The key is cooking and preparing the black pudding exactly as explained.
