As the name suggested, the Watchers kept track of the Slayer, assigned someone to watch over them. If a Slayer disappeared, someone would notice. Someone would look for them. But if the Slayer died, the Watchers would move on to the next one. So the girl had to die. Not for long, not forever, just long enough. So the girl was killed, Buffy Summers was the Slayer, and the girl was reborn. Honor St Croix knew nothing of her life before. She only knew the mission: kill Buffy Summers and become the only Slayer once again. Nothing would distract her from her sacred mission – until she found herself face to face with Buffy herself.

Poor Margaretta - she’s always had it so rough. At least, that’s what everyone at Church used to say. Poor, poor Margaretta. Well, Margo doesn’t go to Church anymore, doesn’t go by Margaretta (an ancient hand-me-down name from a great-so-many-times-over-grandmother, no thank you), and doesn’t think most people would even look her in the eye now, let alone pity her. She’s not really sure if it’s better or worse than before.

But, maybe they were right - maybe she has had it rough. Watching her grandfather die at the age of 8? Pretty rough. Starting to see things, like her grandfather walking around just days after his funeral, or hearing the whispers of people who are supposed to be long dead? Yeah, she’d say that was rough. Going to see countless doctors, getting diagnosed with early onset schizophrenia at age 13, trying every kind of medication under the sun to no avail? Really, really rough. But maybe they didn’t know the half of it - because ‘rough’ doesn’t even begin to describe her junior year. Not when the voices led her to walk in on her classmate being murdered, and not when that led to a psychotic break so bad her parents chucked her into the nearest mental institution with an opening. That wasn’t rough. That was Hell.

Starting her junior year over again isn’t really a cake walk, either. Between getting picked on by her ex-best friend and scrambling to save up for college, the only solaces Margo’s got are playing drums for Dingoes Ate My Baby and hanging out with classmate, bandmate, and crush friend, Daniel ‘Oz’ Osbourne. But when Oz starts dating a new girl, things start to get weird - and Margo can’t help but get dragged into the middle of it all. Again.

Spike glared at the girl with long curly black hair even as hid from the Slayer. What did she know. They were evil! It was their job to do evil.  

“They are vampires, evil is kind of their MO. Lizzie” 

“I said moron, not evil.” Lizzie said. “Seriously. This is a stupid decision.”

“IDK vampires hate humans. Getting rid of them seems kind of next step.” Xander said.

‘Born in destruction it follows you everywhere you go.’

Sunnydale, California. The center for all mystical activity, the Hellmouth. Rose hoped she would never have to go there, content to patrol the streets of Chicago and guard as best she could against the forces of darkness. Sunnydale was the Slayer’s responsibility, not Rose’s. 

But Rose learned long ago that fate makes fools of us all and whatever she might have planned wouldn’t matter in the face of her destiny or whatever. All it takes is a message from The Powers That Be and Rose was packing up to head to California. 

Never mind the fact that her vampire dad, who she hasn’t talked to in literal decades by the way, is there, skulking around in the shadows and pining over the Slayer. Oh, and Rose has a couple of ex-boyfriend also kicking around town, one there to cause chaos and one serving as the Slayer’s Watcher. 

So yeah, it gets a little complicated.

Effie Bishop has lived in Sunnydale for her entire life, and yeah things have always been a little string. You learn to get over it, set your sights ahead and move past the strange occurrences, the mysterious disappearances, the weird deaths. That’s just what happens in Sunnydale. 

Other than that, life for Effie is pretty normal. She goes to school, hangs out with her boyfriend, practices with her band, plays shows at The Bronze. That’s it. Normal. Mundane. 

Until it’s not. 

When her boyfriend starts to display... werewolf tendencies, Effie doesn’t know what to do, and so she turns to Buffy Summers and her friends who seem to always be around when the weird stuff happens. What she does not expect is to become part of their group, and to join in the battle against evil.
