The hum of crickets rung through the air, filling the couples ears as they perched on the dewy grass. Normally, the harsh noises these insects created were unbearable. But when mixed with the trickling of water from the river in front of them, it was quiet relaxing.
It was her boyfriend who had suggested the spot, and she was very surprised of course. He was never one for romantic places- the most they had ever done was hang out at the Villain's bar, drinking all their whiskey and laughing. But this place was different. Even under the cloak of the dark night, she could make out every single detail.
The spider lilies that sprouted on the river bank, the long blades of grass that swayed gently in the night time breeze. It was stunning, and the brown haired girl couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle. The man beside her nudged her slightly with his coat clad shoulder, a slight smile grazing his lips.
"What's got you so giddy, Fleur?" Dabi murmured as he wrapped his arm around her, smirking as her face dusted pink.
"This place is just...unusual. In a good way of course. I didn't know you had romance in you, burn boy" The brown haired girl teased in reply, taking another sip of the bottle tucked between her legs. The slight burn made her shudder, but it was pleasant- she could handle it. His burnt hand plucked the bottle from her as she finished her drink, and he took a sip also.
"I'll take that as a compliment, shortie" He grumbled as his spare hand raked through his dyed onyx locks, and she poked at him. This was the most conversation they had made tonight, but neither of them minded. All that mattered was each others company, they didn't need to talk all the time to enjoy that. Dabi nudged her once more as he placed a cigarette between her thin lips, his blue flame lighting it for her- and she sent him a smile of appreciation.
"Thank you" Fleur grinned, blowing out a puff of smoke as she pushed her glasses up on the bridge of her nose. She didn't know if it was the alcohol, Dabi or both- but her body tingled, she just felt so happy. Taking another drag from her cigarette she rested her head on his shoulder, humming as she got comfortable.
This night was perfect, and she wanted to engrain it in her mind forever.
