I can't help but think of an clegan au, where John is married but his husband died in an accident. Or John could also be from a mafia and his husband was murdered by an enemy mafia family, I don't know.
And Gale, who would be a little younger, would work at a coffee shop to help pay for university, and they would meet there. and John would be paralyzed with shock because Gale is physically the same as his husband who passed away. Exactly the same face, just blonde (and his husband would have brown hair).
I thought of some possibilities.
They really just look alike, or they could be twin brothers who have never met.
His husband didn't really die and it's Gale, but it would have involved Gale having amnesia. And there would have to be some reason for them to have done this, and to have given him a new identity.
I also thought the story being a A/B/O. And John (alpha) and his husband (omega) would have a son. And the son who would be around 4, 5 years old would see Gale and be sure that he is his father :')
Anyway, these are some ideas I have for the story, but I don't think I'll write them because I already have another fic with several chapters to finish and two more one shots, but I'd love to read something like that.
