In the first episode of Buddy System Season 2, the Holy Duo are strangers that meet for the first time and become roomates. They get on the other one's nerves but eventually bring out the best in each other. It's a really great series and I hope you've all been able to watch it. Shameless plug over, I wanted to talk about roommates. In my experience, I've only ever had one terrible living experience with someone but I was 19 and we were all shitheads. Every person I've lived with since then has been great. I consider myself lucky. I'm also pretty easy-going so not a whole lot bothers me. I think my biggest debacle with my current roommate is about Crunchy Taco Hamburger Helper. I think it's ok, and she thinks it's the best. I prefer Stroganoff or Beef Pasta personally. I could go on about @mythicalbutt all day because our friendship is truly a unique one, but I'll spare you the weirdness. That's a post for another day and a another blog. I know that not everyone can have the best roommates and some people are absolutely insufferable to live with. We all have grown up a certain way and have grown accustomed to a certain life. That's why we move out of our parent's house. We just want to live by our own rules and it's time to get the hell out. It's much more afforable to live with someone so we settle for a stranger or a friend. For some, it's easier to put up with minor annoyances from a stranger than to be under the constant scrutiny of your mom or dad. If you live with your parents, then that's fine too. They can be the best roommates sometimes. Remember to try and take a break every now and then. Being around people constantly can drain your energy. Retire to your room (or couch) and meditate. Take a walk or a drive and give yourself some space. I think a big reason why people get so bothered with roommates is because they don't take some time to themselves.
