The Boy is Mine - Brandy & Monica, 1998

I was listening to (of all things) the Glee version of this classic '90s R&B hit when I was struck with an idea so powerful that, despite my heavy PhD research workload, I finally sat down and figured out how to make GIFs: an edit of this song's bridge with Monica's part (first four gifs) as sung from the perspective of Anne Boleyn and Brandy's (last four gifs) as that of Catherine of Aragon, both fighting over Henry VIII! This is my first gifset ever - a bit late, I'll admit!

For what it's worth, I love and admire both of these queens! I cannot stress that enough. While Catherine and Anne may have fought for Henry's heart from 1527-1536 (and make no mistake, they were bitter enemies), I firmly believe that in 2025, we don't need to side with one queen over the other. This gifset is merely a creative reflection of what Catherine and Anne may have thought during Henry's struggle for an annulment, not an expression of my own views.

P.S. I tried to include as many depictions as possible (although only from productions which depicted both Catherine and Anne), so there's two rarely-seen portrayals in this as well!
