10.      What do you love about your muse?

             So much you guys. So,so much. They’re the best mix of my two favorite theatre archetypes – the shopkeepand his wife and honor among thieves. They’re comic relief in an ‘80s musicalwhich automatically makes them fantastic. They’re played by my favorite actressand actor in the kinda real kinda fake Hollywood version.

               But most importantly, they’reactually in a really good relationship for each other. When I got into Les Miz Iwas getting out of a really bad relationship so I wasn’t buyin any of this loveat first sight nonsense, nor could I get into poor Eponine’s struggles. Therest of les amis kinda sorta remind me of the spoiled rich kids I have to go toschool with no offense that’s just how they come off at this point in mylife yes I’ve read the book they’re a lot better in the book but we’re nottalking about the book we’re talking about the musical. But Monsieur andMadame Thenardier – Christ.

                      They have some of the hardestlives presented to us OVERALL and know exactly what they’re about, who’s incharge, how they’re living life. Amoral as the bastards are I always gotta lovethat.

11.      What do you hate about your muse?

               I mean I shouldn’t even have tosay it. I condone nothing that my muses do. Child abuse is the worst of their offenses that I can canonically reference, we’renot delving into all of the junk he gets into in the book, and as amusingas petty theft is to me - who grew up in the county prison cause my dad’s adefense attorney - it’s not a cool thing to do either.

12.      What about your muse amuses you?

               Is this a trick question? The way they interact with each other, how Pierre leads his gang, their clothing, the way they talk – I have literally written essays about how they are the perfect comic relief villains.

13.      What about your muse makes you sad?

                       Not getting into child abuseagain, see above.

                      There’s a few things. Firstly, I amfrustrated that not only do they not get a redemptive arc but that I – the biggest Thenardier fangirl I’ve ever met– can’t imagine how they could get one. Secondly, I feel that it’s important tonote that they’re at an odd age when we meet them. It’s important to note thatwith the possible exception of some of Thenardier’s gang, nobody’s quite in thesame age range – they’re either significantly older or younger. And that’sbecause they were part of the first lost generation. Pierre’s involvement inWaterloo was a culmination, the result of years of being in the army – this isn’teven just headcanons, he had to be because he had a rank. This doesn’t getexplored – for obvious reasons – but when I think about what the war not tomention the revolution did to them, I can make myself really upset.

14.      How would you describe your muse to someoneabout to meet them, in person, for the first time?
